I hear what your saying and I understand, but when I heard him speaking on the radio today, I just didn't feel the love. When he used to speak about Collingwood I always used to feel like he loved that club. I don't hear love. Maybe it's just me
I can't say I hate him as such, but I feel conflicted about warming to a man who I took great pleasure in seeing heart broken at the end of the 2003 Grand Final shedding tears with Licuria.
But then again he did call Milne a rapist and looked like he wanted to kill him. So he can't be all bad...
Jeez, a bit hard to feel love for a club and a group of players he's coached for a sum total of ZERO games!
What you heard from him at collingwood was the feeling that comes from coaching a group of blokes for their career, and being part of a place for a decade, getting into grand finals, winning them, all the highs and lows. If he was professing love for carlton without ever coaching us in a single game, I'd think he's full of shit.
What John said.
A decade vs 5 minutes.
I started really liking him after he signed and informed me that he was a Carlton supporter as a kid.
Won me.
It doesn't matter who they represented...and lets face it Richmond and Collingwood isn't any Carlton man's cup of cocoa...he's now having a go with us as did Barrassi and Parko did in my time.
If he doesn't win us a flag, he'll be pigeon holed with Pagan and Hamill having never delivered a flag when we gave them the opportunity. Yeah yeah...a bit bias...don't worry about it.
We'll win our flag with MM. If we win 2-3 he's The Messiah along with Pratty and if Juddy is around whilst that all happens...another ring in who barracked for Demons, played with Eagles and saw the light at Carlton.
Come on MM there's 3 flags beckoning.
