Hi all, I feel compelled to share some thoughts about the family at Princes Park yesterday- I was very disappointed with how it turned out. Firstly, I have been to a few and the formula never changes- there is no conscious effort to create or encourage member involvement, save for the obligatory fun rides and 'touch an farm animal" experience......I went with my partner and 6 yo son (who's a Captain Carlton member) and a few things we noticed left us dismayed. Here are the following:
* On a hot day, there are no designated shelters on the oval for the people, other than the grandstand;
* Rather than do the presentation last, can CFC do this first and then have a time for players' signings afterwards (and every player be available for this;
* On a hot day, noone from CFC to dispense with sunscreen (good PR if ever there were one!);
* My brother (who some know around here), spoke to Michelle Trewartha and another CFC employee and their complaint was "there's nobody to have an interview with!" Well, that may be the case in regards to the players but what about the fans, the members.....surely they make good copy!; and* Lastly, please don't do the Q&A session with the coach- the family day should be about engaging with many "on the fence" supporters and turning them into members. The Q&A should be confined to a corporate dinner or supporters' functions; most people were switched off because they couldn't hear what Micky M said; and they want to know what CFC will give them.
One more thing, why wasn't "Lily of Laguna" sung? You want engagement, here it is.......
