It is great to see that Stephen is putting all this effort in even after he left the Board. The key is that there has been more "real" interaction between club and supporters than in the previous 18 years I have been a member. I am really happy with the progress. I would however like to see the Blue View every week. I think it was received very positively by the fans last year and I was hoping for a broadcast every week - I think it would be worth it.
One thing I have mentioned to the Club is post match interaction. Instead of an email, I would like to see a video of the coach or an assistant coach reviewing the game on a Monday. Alternatively a twitter broadcast with the opportunity to ask questions.

Something little but how about having the year on the membership card for the "little tacker" membership.....I have been keeping my sons since he was born and this years card has no reference to 2013 season

The AFL and the club just blame each other.

Other afl members get their club membership pack alot sooner so I know who's fault it is.

Hi all, I feel compelled to share some thoughts about the family at Princes Park yesterday- I was very disappointed with how it turned out. Firstly, I have been to a few and the formula never changes- there is no conscious effort to create or encourage member involvement, save for the obligatory fun rides and 'touch an farm animal" experience......I went with my partner and 6 yo son (who's a Captain Carlton member) and a few things we noticed left us dismayed. Here are the following:
* On a hot day, there are no designated shelters on the oval for the people, other than the grandstand;
* Rather than do the presentation last, can CFC do this first and then have a time for players' signings afterwards (and every player be available for this;
* On a hot day, noone from CFC to dispense with sunscreen (good PR if ever there were one!);
* My brother (who some know around here), spoke to Michelle Trewartha and another CFC employee and their complaint was "there's nobody to have an interview with!" Well, that may be the case in regards to the players but what about the fans, the members.....surely they make good copy!; and* Lastly, please don't do the Q&A session with the coach- the family day should be about engaging with many "on the fence" supporters and turning them into members. The Q&A should be confined to a corporate dinner or supporters' functions; most people were switched off because they couldn't hear what Micky M said; and they want to know what CFC will give them.

One more thing, why wasn't "Lily of Laguna" sung? You want engagement, here it is....... :sad:

Everyone in the country knew it was going to be a hot day. Why wouldn't you bring your own sunscreen? At the Australian Open they sell it to you. I'm sure there'd be some complaints if Carlton did this! If it were raining - would you expect the club to provide you with one of those cheap plastic ponchos?

Doc, yesterday was a marketing exercise put on by the club for the fans. A bit of free sunscreen would have gone down rather well at a family day I would have thought.

Maybe they just didn't think about.

What about some glasses of lemon water for everyone, also. Yummy. :razz:

Yep - signed up an Adelaide and a Hawthorn club support on Wednesday afternoon.

Both cards and pack received on Friday. Still haven't received either card or pack for mine that was auto-renewed in November. Wife's pack from Hawthorn received a month ago.

Then you'll have some bogan family suing the club because their little ranga kid accepted the sunscreen from the 'Carlton employee' and the kid was allergic to the sunscreen and then for all future family days you'll have to sign an indemnity form and then the next thing you know some poor kid and his Grandpa Joe break the rules and then you'll have Greg Swann grabbing the mic and saying "Under section 37B of the contract signed by you, it states quite clearly that all offers shall become null and void if - and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy: I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained, et cetera, et cetera... Fax mentis incendium gloria cultum, et cetera, et cetera... Memo bis punitor delicatum! It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal! You stole fizzy lifting drinks! You bumped into the ceiling which now has to be washed and sterilized, so you get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir!"

It starts with a little free sunscreen...

Pretty sure there were plans for a glass elevator complete with skyhooks in at least the original plans for the Legends Stand, and possibly Smorgyland as well.

....may have just misinterpreted Smorgy, and didn't have the heart to tell him Shirley's been dead for a few years however..
