Nobody wanted Jordan as a free agent so of course they would not pay with a real draft pick or swap.
The reason why clubs do these high pick deals with delisted players is to help them/the club they go to. If they switch under a trade they can start at the new club immediately i.e. when pre-season starts.
If they wait for the next period for delisted players to be picked up they loose a couple of weeks. (Was explained by some recruiter on radio). So it is a courtesy thing. To think that any club would pay for a free agent / delisted player is silly.
You people are only happy when you can bitch about the club.
Should be read aloud by many here.............over and over.

I think people have every right to ask very hard questions about their club. And I'm sure once the club demonstrates it is operating effectively enough to genuinely challenge for a top 4 position, and from there a Premiership, supporters will be a lot more positive about things.
The overall tone of the discussion around the club is negative because we've had a terrible 10 years, and we're still a fair way off challenging for a flag. We just sacked a coach we pretty much just reappointed, we demoted our head of recruiting but kept him on staff, our key benefactor openly expressed his concerns that our board is dysfunctional, we sacked the coach of our development team because he was a part-timer, the people making these decisions are still there, and a whole generation of Carlton supporters have grown up seeing carlton as one of the poorest teams in the competition.
The average Carlton supporter can't be criticised for looking at Hawthorn, looking at Collingwood and looking at Carlton and thinking... what the hell happened to my club??
