Jeff and Eddie, thank you for costing us the game.

It isn't up to Jeff and Eddie to win crunch games for us. OK, they missed goals. They are also our top two goalkickers for the year so they have done their share of winning games for us anyway.

How about Murphy's game? Not up to his usual standard. Barely got a touch all day and when he did? No penetration.
How about Gibbs's game. His usual standard vanilla game with one good tackle added for good measure. When Judd went off who stepped up out of our #1 pick mids? Neither of them McLean went at it from the first bounce. Why? because he is playing for his life every week and the others aren't.
How about Kreuzer's game. Won a few hitouts including one pearler to McLean running through the pack. Not one contested mark. Not one goal. Lots of bullocking but he is NOT a tap ruckman and IMO is a wasted #1 pick. Got towelled up again by someone in the same draft would you believe?
How about Simmo's game? Held most of the day, turned it over several times and even ran the wrong side of the ball carrier to sell himself into a position where he had to turn it over for a goal late in the game. I love Simmo but he had a poor game tonight by his standards.

Have I covered all the 'leaders' yet? There are 8.

Waite played well for 5.
Judd injured
Jamo out

Judd said it last week. The leaders have to take responsibility and they don't/can't/won't. Wallsy is right. Probably top blokes all of them but leaders? Sorry.

Garlett and Eddie may well kick ten between them in Rd 1 but the deeper problem of lack of leadership will take more than a new coach and six months to resolve.

Whoever we get has to teach everybody to kick straight. Priority one. Nobody wants to shoot for goal. They mark and desperately try to find someone to pass to. It's a confidence thing. Look at the Essendon* game. Kicked everything. PRESSURE!

2013 starts now.

Do you think the new coach will keep the pick or trade it?

Dunno. If you can find one perhaps you could ask them.

Keep it. Use it. Develop it. Reep the benefits of it.

Well that wasted a nice afternoon. That was shocking on both sides. Glad the season is over.

I liked Mitchell & McCarthy getting a run. Both did a couple of nice things. Hard to do much more in that type of match.

McLean looked to be the only one who really worked hard.

Thought ROK did some really good team stuff in defence. Hopefully he stays. He'll get better and we need his kicking.

Not much else. Bring on some smart recruiting, a new coach and a big pre season. :thumbsup:

PS Keep the f$$%n roof shut. Made a crap game even worse. :hitcomputer:

Sad way to end for everyone except the recruiter.

Ratts didn't cost us the game.

Injuries to Judd and Yarran did.
Eddie and Jeffs kicking did.
Other injuries hammered us.
Late withdrawals Carrazzo and Tuohy may have.

Sad.

The End.

I think Synbad has got it all wrong. Too much ranting and headkicking and not enough clear thinking.

......at some stage you have to blame the players Synbad. Your heroes.
Ratts instructions were good today but the one they got confused with was kick the ball through the big sticks. That is how you get 6 points.

3 men down + Garlett. The set ups were fine. Execusion not so good. Gotta kick goals.

Malthouse will find out about all this next year and beyond and then he will get the arse or get told to stop coaching by his wife.

BS im having a go at clubs summation its the players fault.

Yes i also said we neede front line mids.. not hbfers....

no matter what u try and pin on me... i cant lose...!!!

I can ony lose if MM comes in and the team is lifeless . listless, insipid... and generally shit....

Then its no different to life under Ratts.

Hes gone....!!!

HOORAY!!!

Nonsense. Don't you get how this works?

Players = pawns
Officials = puppets
Coaches = pretenders

It's gotta be punchy, so emotive wording and heavy use of alliteration are a must.

Would you believe club.. that i brought it up with RATTEN.. that our kicking and undisciplined acts were not AFL standard.. and he said i repeat "What do you expect ... a game with no mistakes?""
He shrugged and said these things happen...
and i said the good clubs manage these things better.....
Ultimately... his attention to detail was crap... and he deserves everything he gets ... except the 500k.....

Thank god that's over.

Nothing like getting run over in the last quarter due to atrocious kicking and mental softness to leave us all feeling even more crap after a truly shithouse year. Should have won it and had numerous opportunities to do so, but just mentally very weak. Good sides just don't make that many mistakes.

And sitting level 2 behind the goals and having to watch Milne and his antics at close range for half the game made it even more galling.

Really liked the look of young Pat McCarthy, not so much Luke Mitchell but hey, first game, welcome boys.

The prospect of a harder edge and better structures and game plan for next year at least gives us hope.

F off 2012.

Eddie and Jeff are forwards, their job is to kick goals, 2.7 between them is pathetic.
