Interesting to see that mediocrity is tolerated at such a high pitch.
Another season for Ratts???
I can't see a way for Ratten to coach beyond this season. I can't advocate any longer for him. Let's get that out the way off the bat.
In saying that, though. Our players have a lot to answer for. How can you have a third more forward 50 entries, a third more scoring shots and only execute 50% disposal efficiency?
Our list and our player's culture is flawed. They choose when to turn up. And they really do get ahead of themselves so much so ... that I don't know if I could stand them if they were a long term winning team. I mean they get a big head after they barely scrape past Melbourne Demons. It's all high-fives and twitter. In a game they barely won and were far from convincing.
And predictably we go out, don't turn up and lay an egg against Port.
While Ratten may fall short in the motivation department to get the guys up for games, a fair bit of the onus has to fall onto the playing group as a whole. Does it not?
I feel for ratten. He looked as surprised as we did last night in the box. We were all asking what happened to the team from last weekend. Hard at it, and with impeccable skills.
We are a jekyl and hyde outfit .... And I gotta be honest, I can't see MM or any other coach coming in here with this current playing group and extracting more from it? How do you coach a team that can deliver 71% disposal efficiency one week, then 50% the following week against the likes of Port & GCFC?
For once synners, instead of pointing fingers and telling us what's wrong, let's hear how we can fix it, and who will do it?
