This one could be straight to tribunal Byron Pickett style.

Reckless, high and severe I reckon.

Min 6 weeks.

Low act.

It warrants a 4 week penalty....it was blatant; careless and deliberate, causing a bad injury, and removal from the game.

Given the extent of Simpson's injury, probably.

Unless it gets referred straight to the tribunal, it won't though.

If it were one of ours, and they pulled out (which was probably the only alternative), we'd be filthy.

I think we'd be filthy if one of our players did that to a fair and brilliant small player from an opposing side......it was completely cowardly and unnecessary.

This.

Both feet off the ground and no eyes for the ball. Out of character for Wellingham but a dog act in isolation. 4 weeks minimum but reduced due to a clean record and early plea I reckon.

Yet there's dozens of posts bemoaning our 100% clean tribunal record this season, and that we have no mongrel in the team.

What if the player in question was Sam Lonergan?

My belief is if a player intentionlly injures another player he should be suspended for the duration of time the injured player misus plus 4 weeks.
Not because of Simmo but this should have happened as recently as Hall/Staker incident if not as long ago as Matthews/Bruns incident.

That's because Waite hasn't been playing....easy as that.

Like it in isolated cases, but if a Dean Wallis type belted a Judd or Ablett and broke their jaw, I don't think six Judd/Ablett games are necessarily worth six shithead scragger types either.

I a,m going to be the scarponi on this. But I liked it. Hated that Simmo got hurt but wish we had some blokes who would hit like that.

I'm sorry but that is not a "tough" hit and don't like seeing that at all. We don't need to be snipers to win games!
Our blokes tackled hard, pressured and shephered well against Collingwood - bring that every week and will not only play finals but be a real player even from the bottom end of the 8.

The points system is bullsh!t if this intentional dog act does not earn him a 6 week break. Wellingham and Simmo were involved in some push and shove earlier in the game. Obviously saw his chance and took it. Dog.

He could have thrown his right arm up, turned his body and actually tried to spoil the ball. Still would have collected Simpson late, but was definitely an option instead of pulling out. That would have been the "clumsy spoil" that Buckley is trying to pass it off as. He made absolutely no attempt at anything other than hitting Simpson's head and succeeded. I'd expect 4 weeks, 3 is clearly too light for that and would hope for 5 or 6.

Bucks said he was trying to mark the ball and then it was split second decision to spoil.

No attempt was made to spoil except Simmo's face which would have have been his intent.

Tim Watson on AFL Game Day doing his best to get Wellingham off.

Apparently Adam Simpson has ended up with a broken jaw. That's 2 Simpson's in 1 night he's beaten up. Look out Homer, he's coming for you next!!

Hard luck to Simmo for his consecutive game streak coming to an end. His responses so far say a lot about the quality of bloke he is.

Like a lot of his mates he's been a bit off at times this year, but is one of our best and we will miss him.

GUN!
