Did he have a crack at Ratts after the game or did I misinterpret what I heard?

..only in jest, made mention that each time he was sub he had'to come on early [due to injury], and that ratts shouldn't make him sub [a'la jinx]..

Nothing changes though, just delays Ratts end. The boys had all the motivation tonight, a couple of surprise tactics, need to show it for the rest of year now when the ammunition for motivation might not be so great.

Seriously, some of you flogs can't even enjoy a win anymore without it distracting you from some Ratten bashing.

Glad I got to enjoy a good win without suffering mixed emotions

Teehee. A moderator called a poster a flog! :-)

Dear Carlton Friend,

I just want to wish you all the very best of luck this evening. I know you will all be there tonight given what loyal supporters you are. I know that these games are hard for you to watch because you have to balance the fact that you grew up hating the pies and now, deep down in places you don’t like to acknowledge, you admire and respect the mighty black n Whites. It’s ok. You should know that we also admire the mighty black n whites.

If not for the fact that your team were turgid front runners with selfish players who are more interested in racking up individual awards than playing for club and jumper (and if you still had a jumper – what is that baby blue nonsense), and if they had any ounce of real football ability, we might have a modicum of respect for your team as well.

Instead, we go into the game looking forward to the destruction we will cause your already shaky egos and we fear that if the game unfolds as expected, we may never ever hear from you again.

You told us you were coming, you told us you were cooking, you told us you had no passengers. I for one have looked long and hard for evidence that any of this is true and I will continue to look for evidence of that tonight. Alas, we expect to be disappointed.

So good luck. May you enjoy a rare opportunity to enjoy players like Goldsack, Sinclair, Williams, Elliot, Blair, Maxwell, Toovey and Dawes – players who do whatever it takes to make our team better without worrying about personal awards. May you also enjoy Swan, Beams, Thomas, Sidebottom, Shaw, Cloke, Reid and jolly who are true superstars in every sense of the word. And may you enjoy our colorful supporters who are without doubt the best in football (even Joffa).

Go Pies!

That thread is bringing me sooooo much joy right now! Bunch of flogs gotta eat their words tonight...the rest of the footy world need to tomorrow, most of them on air.

Saddest part about this is it's more enjoyable for me right now to read Pies supporters cursing and praising our group than to read our supporters' posts...reckon they're more complimentary at this point in time of us than we are. Some of you need to get out of the sandpit even if you can't get on the wagon.

it's getting out of hand. for sure.

hey, can someone please reply to that letter over at nicks?
that would be most enjoyable. :-D

Before reading the whole thread,
there is little sweeter than standing in the Long Room in front of the telly to watch the song next to a table of Filth,
to hear the comment,
"Wait till you've won 10 in a row"
Reply: "We've won 2 in a row against you"
Cranky 95 year old: "He said 3 in a row"
Reply "It'll be 3 in a row come finals!"

Very little better in life than burring the Filth!

Ratts will go out at least with one better coaching win/loss record against another coach:

Ratts 2 - Buckley 0

Great game by most of the guys but for me Yarran was the difference. His field-kicking tonight was elite.

Let's not underestimate the influence of Geoffrey Edelsten in the box. Putting Duigan in the forward line was a master stroke Doc.

Some classic quotes coming out of Nick's Collingwood page right now:

Quote:
You really wanna know what tonight was like - i'll tell you: It was like watching your girlfriend getting rooted by another bloke back in April, forgiving her, then watching her get rooted by him again three months later. And that's about as blunt of an analogy i can fathom at present.

Well said

And that just about sums up where most of these gutter crawling, teeth deprived, brain bereft drains of society are at - when they are not at the football, pub, pushing strollers with 3 babies and 2 pit bull terriers - they are spending the rest of their time hopping in and out of bus shelters rooting each other's defactos, or passing acquaintences.

I work in a sportsbar. I HATE it when collingwood is on. Even free to air on Friday night brings these awful people out - and that is what the ast number of them are - awful.

When Collingwood are playing foxtel only - it is hell. They crawl out of their shacks, too busy spending their money on booze and alcohol branded clothing to get foxtel.

It's not just a joke, they have so many of societies dregs following them - awful people Colonwood supporters.

So stoked we beat em!

Cool it.

Differing opinions are fine, but cheap provocations are for lesser people than you.

Enjoy what we saw tonight.

Well said Jack. Bickerers, try PMs rather than clogging this thread. The Blues were great and let's enjoy it for one week at least.

God I love getting up after a win buying all the papers. Pouring all over the articles and then watching the replay.

How sweet it is.

Can someone explain that quote from Ratten??? I find it disturbing

I think he's referring specifically to the Geelong and Eagles games where the effort was there, just not the result.

^ Agree with Doc. Definitely suggesting that the intent was similarly evident in the West Coast and Geelong games, we just didn't end up with the result at the end of the 'arm wrestle,' so to speak.
