Yep. Made sure he put in a good word for the off-field team. I think Mathieson is right, the entire club needs a stringent review of its performance.

Not to buck the boat at all, but in answer to this:

Quote:
Mathieson is particularly critical of the club's recruiting, furious the Blues have not selected bargain picks to complement their trio of No.1 selections.

"We have recruited so badly over the last 10 years, it's a joke. You tell me one class player they have recruited (apart from the No.1 picks)," he said.

Here's a handful:
Armfield
Betts
Carrazzo
Duigan
Garlett
Jamison
Kennedy (relevance here due to quality required to be given away to secure Judd)
Laidler
Robinson
Tuohy
Walker
Yarran

At their best, many of those guys would be welcomed on most AFL lists I would have thought. Not saying our recruiting couldn't have been better, and perhaps it's a bit scary that many of the guys on my list above were rookies, but I'm not sure our recruiting is as bad as some people make out. I'd suggest there's 17 other clubs (well 15 at least, haha) who would have people on the outer suggesting they could have recruited better over the years.

That aside, finally there's one Bruce in footy we can listen to.

How many would be in first 22 of Hawks, West Coast or Pies?

Carazzo - yes?
Jamo - yes?
Betts - maybe

At their best, a few more than that I reckon and I'd suggest your own answer would have been different after R3.

Anyway, it's a separate discussion really, the reason you could only agree on three players now probably has more to do with our coaching, structures and confidence than it does with pure talent.

Get the coaching/admin back on track and I reckon our players will raise their performance.

For sure. He and Milne are the best two small forwards in the comp.

Robbo
Yarran
Touhy soon
Laidler

Iknow we are traveling prettybadly atm but let's not forget these spuds beat Collingwood by 10 goals, have been close to WCE twice in Perth and Should have beaten Geelong. We must have some decent players on the list when they are fit and firing as a unit. If we haven't, Ratts must be the coach of the century.

I agree. Betts is a better performer than the over-hyped Cyril.

Eddie is much more consistent now, but there isn't a club in the AFL who would take Eddie over Cyril.

Be serious for a second.

Maybe we can trade Joseph for vast dollars since he has Cyril's measure.

Robbo and Yarran on best days yes, on typical days no.

I admit a little harsh on Eddie B, so he should be a yes, nice to see Guerra gets just desserts.

Laidler with his knee issues nope.

Betts was an accident...

We wanted Trent Knobel

The AFL stepped in and saved us from ourselves

"too many mates"
"review"

music to my ears....

and Sticks getting all defensive...

One thing is for sure... if Bruce wants something he will get it if he realllly wants it....
There were a couple of times there they got away with things in the past (The Collo stab in the back) which Bruce didnt support and ultimately resigned over....and they might think they can ignore him this time again... But i think if they do.. Bruce will be wiping blood from his shoes this time.
He has i nvested too much to let this thing be ignored.

You can see the end is in sight.
Kernahan is pathetic
Typical
Friday he is supporting Ratten 100%
Monday its what will be will be
I would get rid of Sticks before anyone else

Finally someone has come out and said the club needs a total overall.

Hope Bruce has a plan to give members an alternative to the bogans running the CFC

Sticks just goes with the flow
Like he has for a decade

Sticks just @#$%&! off now

please...

Well said Sombrero, I want the review as much as anyone. But power players need to step forward and challenge. I actually don't mind if club power brokers has a snipe at the club from the media. But alot of Pratt's money is in the club at the moment as well and I am sure he set out his groundwork for the future with Jeannie as the oversight - you get those quirks when you have the balls to step up.

Geez that Metheson is a negative one isnt he Scarponi???
Pratts have only contributed enough to control the club.
Not to pay off the debt.
Ultimately they will contribute enough to equal paying it off.....but not in the one hit to actually pay it off.
Its on the drip..... so the silly boys club are reliant on the cunning Pratts.
Its about control !!!

It means the club shouldnt be relying on them and should have the balls to go out and forge itself a vibrant bold future where it is self sufficient.
At the moment its a single mother wating for its single mothers pension to come in.

And that Scarps is why these bananas are rotten!!!

I have no problem if Mathieson or anyone else wants to challenge for Presidency, if that's what you mean. More challengers the better really, they just need to step up.
