why is it when questions are asked people have to puff up their keyboard chests and name people Richmond supporters etc.
Doc has raised important issues before - he cares about the club - not just did we win today, but where are we headed? How are we traveling? etc. Give me those kind of supporters any day of the week.
there have been concerns about Sticks before - Doc. Synbad. Myself. and many, many others....
there should always be people asking questions - !@#$%& I don't care if the questions are wrong
they should always be asked...
or wookie and jc would you rather the AFL approach - maybe the club should threaten to fine people for raising questions
maybe they should remove memberships...
Is our current president the very best president for his club?
Is this club at the cutting edge of the AFL - a leader rather than trying to catch up?
Are we innovative?
Have we fallen into old habits - ie the way we treat members/supporters/volunteer staff etc?
these questions should always be asked - always - surely Elliott taught us that much at least....
Or maybe people have an axe to grind - All indicators apart from this seasons on field performance are on the way up - People compare us to Collingwood we are never going to better them no one in the entire competition does so why kid yourself that you will
If you were running a business through these times and you have revenue increasing - sponsorship full - membership rising - facilites built you would have to say you were doing ok - But of course someone is always better its the nature of the beast - It is like 2 weeks ago we had supporters saying they wished out players played like Richmond players - Next week it will be someone else because richmond are not that flash at the moment
There is no doubt this years on field performance has been questionable but to lay the blame at Sticks and the Board is laughable at best . They have done everything they possibly can to equip the playing group with the tools they need
and if using elite training facilites in Qatar is not innovation I dont know what is - They were not running up high hills in Arizona they went to what is regarded as the best training facilty in the world
The issue I see at the moment is twofold
1. is recruitment
2. is playing tactics
I think over the last few years they have got this two things wrong and they both go hand in hand
But do we blame Sticks for that is it his job to oversee the playing department
The way I see it they have set ambitious targets in membership and top 4 - they wont meet them but do we chuck the baby out with the bath water because of it
