I love the way people keep referring to "the dark time" or "the dark years" as though they were part of ancient history - or at least some time in the past. We are still IN the dark years....... unless you think that being 9th on the ladder half way through Round 12 (with Richmond about to go past us this afternoon) is somehow being in a new golden era.
#wakeup. #headinthesand.
Settle down Moshe25. They were dark days when we went to games hoping for fev to kick a few and nothing more.
It can be said that a year we don't win the flag is a dark year but these days don't compare to them dark days mid through the early to late 2000's .
You ARE kidding, aren't you? Since the St Kilda game, these days compare a lot to "them dark days mid through the early to late 2000's". At least there was some hope in those days (Fev will kick 10 today, Walker will take MOTY, Murph will be good in the future, Gibbs will be a star, Juddy's great, etc, etc). I gotta tell ya, there is absolutely NOTHING I look forward to now when I go to the footy. In fact, although I barrack like crazy, I worry that if we win, the issues will get swept under the carpet.
I also hate that it comes down to any of:
- umpiring decisions;
- AJ's "mistakes";
- Juddy's form;
- etc, etc.
I'm not going to repeat myself, but suffice to say, I reckon we're just #Rearranging.Deck.Chairs.On.The.Titanic.
