Good point. Perce did a great job in 81 and 82. Loved him as a player, but he was even better as a coach. His 3/4 time speech in 81 was amazing apparently.
Also, I think you'll find that we made the finals, finish second after H&A, in 1980 but missed the GF

Hey psyc & Moshe, if you are going to have a crack please read my earlier posts, as I had already conceded that I made an error regarding us missing the finals in 80 & as far as Perc not being coach in 81,82 I simply forgot to mention it, what I am trying to say is that sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards and our situation, while not one that makes us happy as supporters may be good for us in years to come.
I don't like it any more than you do but when I look at the way the year has progressed so far with form, injuries, depth & the lack of confidence that these things have caused it looks like we are not ready yet, it is fairly obvious to see that for us to be able to compete against the top sides we have to be playing at our absolute best and injury free as we don't yet have the depth to cover important players in the side, we are never going to be able to play at our best all the time it is just not humanly possible, Psyc surely a learned gentleman like yourself would understand how fragile the human mind can be at times and if we don't have the kids to cover then we don't have them, simple.
How about both of you come up with a reasonable and well thought out plan as to how these problems can be fixed by seasons end or by Thursday night instead of the same old crap about the coach, it didn't look the the coach had lost the players on Friday night, it looked to me like some blokes found a little bit of the faith in themselves that they have lost.
You have made so many assumptions in this post that it has rendered it nonsensical. (When you assume you make an ass out of u and me).
Now if you pay me Swann's and McKay's and Ratten's salary, then I'll have a go at coming up with a reasonable and well thought out plan as to how these problems can be fixed by seasons end or by Thursday night.
However, given that not only aren't I paid, but I have to friggin pay for the privilege (around $2K this year), I'll just consider that it's my friggin right to sit on the sidelines and take potshots.
But, given that you think we ordinary supporters should, how about
you come up with a reasonable and well thought out plan as to how these problems can be fixed by seasons end or by Thursday night instead of the same old crap about injuries and we're improving and you gotta give us another 5 years or so......
