We will make the top 8 - Not all is lost. Scotland back in a few weeks. We will have Carrots and Murph back at the business end - Judd will enjoy the bye.
I don't think that losing to the reigning premiers by 2 goals when we had more scoring shots means that its all over. Players that we all called hacks - McLean, Collins & Watson all showed good composure and desire for most of the night. Bootsma will be a player. Gibbs back in some form. Garlett had a real crack.
The kick to the boundary is team policy - The belief is that if the forward misses the mark or turns over then at least there is a better chance to corrall an opponent and create the stoppage. With all guns firing we should be the best stoppage team in the caper. The low percentage kick is the bomb to the top of the square, it means that a turnover can be run straight back down the guts.
I agree with all this.
Jiffy can be frustrating, but as long as he's switched on and trying for 4 q's I'm happy.
I thought Henda was also great, but is a little scared of playing forward.
I believe he has the talent, but can he hold his nerve there? Can he get more comfortable with switching ends?
He could be a top line player very soon. I truly think we will make the finals, and hopefully, make 2 finals.
If we do, then we are still improving on a a yearly basis, frustrations or not.
This is assuming we play every remaining game with intention and comittment to win. No more snoozing.
Should we thionk of trading Hampson for a true marking forward? Can he be that player?
Will Rrrobbie's body hold out, or do we need a 3rd ruckman in case?
