Time to not lose our cool and remember this season is finished as far as a flag threat. All that matters is seeing who can make a difference next year. Based on tonight, at least 3 younger ones will and Brock too.
And welcome back to football Mr Gibbs. Solid game.
Simpson a standout.
I don't agree. That game we should have won but for seriously bad kicking for goal and their three coast to coast goals in the last rom our behinds.
Footy is a shit game when the gods point the ball at the post and 4 points go begging.
We have WCE after a 6 day break and they have the bye this week. I think we can write that one off. We then have the bye. During that time we may get Carazzo and Waite back. We lost Warnock, which was a blow but they seem to think it is a corkie so he should be OK ifit is for next week.
The trick is to not get thrashed and drop too much percentage. We have a tough month ahead but after that it gets better. Meanwhile the top teams have to play each other. Murphy is the problem and Judd. Judd is a shadow of his last year's self and there has to be a reason for it. It isn't the tag. he's used to it. He must have a niggle. if not, he should play forward for a few weeks where he can get possessions that can lead to goals. I wonder if he has just had a gutful of carrying the team for so long and just feels spent.
If we have a bit of luck and a fair wind we may get over Hawthorn, who are a bit up and down. Like us. If we are eighth after the H&A, the season starts afresh. Away finals? Not fun but they are not impossible.
I think if we can get out best team on to the park at any time this year, we are still a chance to cause some headaches in September. The critical time is the next few weeks and out good percentage, worth a game so we have to protect it even when we lose.
We may have lost the game tonight but IMO there should be less doom and gloom on TC this week after the effort by the team we had available.
