Stop Sugarcoating Syd, tell us what you really think!!
We have been royally bent over on trades in recent years. Essentially we gave away Jacobs and Grigg for nothing (well nothing useful anyway). You can blame Grigg all you like for being disloyal etc but realistically, if I wasnt getting a game and somebody elsewhere offered me more money and more opportunity I'd leave as well, cant blame the kid for wanting to play footy! Problem we have is that by the time we knew for sure he was leaving we had no skin in the trade and the only option was to drop duds and bend over!! Same deal for Sauce!
We have struggled badly to draft KPP. Our VFL list looks like the knackers yard for broken down TAC cup has beens. We have a brace of kids whose names start with Mac that cant get on the park and dont have a working set of shoulders between the lot! They'll hang around on the list for 3 - 5 years earning a living off potential and then 'do a Hartlett' or 'a Livingstone'! We gave away pick 11 for the guy that was going to get in and win us the hard ball but he has barely been sighted since and has not impressed when he has been in. The only shining light has been a couple of rookies, an irishman and other smokies we somehow snaffled late in the piece.
I tend to agree with you Syd.
So far this year we started the season on fire but we have been exposed as 1 trick ponies. The competition has worked us out and due to the problems listed above we have no alternatives.
