Don't like the selections at all. After last week a statement needed to be made and the MC backed down again.
I was at the game and Russell, Joseph and Duigan weren't just bad they were woeful and as much as I like the way Bower takes on the game his disposal is a major issue.
What do they say about "Insanity"?
Can't chop and change all the time - the players selected are basically the best we got
I agree our midfield depth is an issue, and will be a huge problem if we get a couple mids injured.
At present we have only Carrazzo missing from the seniors and the mids we have in reserve (depth?) are Joseph, McLean, the improving Lucas and a kid called Buckley (who is years away).
Right now, with so many injured talls, Laidler, Waite, Warnock, Casboult, White and Davies, we only have the undeveloped Watson and McCarthy to bring in if there's further injury to the big fellas.
Yep, the cupboards are bare, and we are relying on lady luck (with injuries) to get us through the year.
It is bloody obvious we've gotta do something about that, but that's next year.
Just watched the preseason game Adel vs Carlton, and they Crows are a good team. They had their best on field and I reckon it's our midfield where our strength lies. I know that game was months ago but the Crows game plan and personnel haven't changed much since then, whereas we will go into this game with the addition of Jamison, Duigan, Judd, Walker and Robinson, who replace Joseph, Bootsma, Lucas, Carrazzo, Casboult, and Buckley from that game (2 subs in that game).
If TBird can kick straight (he hit the post a coupla times) he should prove a headache for the Crows.
