Walker won't play until the GWS game. Perfect game for him to come back in when we are resting a few players. He can get back to form in an "easy" game. Makes perfect sense.

 Isn't that Essendon*?

There's a guy on BB whose main concern is that if they beat us on the weekend they'll get talked up as "premiership favorites" as we have this week.

The next post reads "I think you're safe"...

From the readers' comments in that Age article:

Quote:
"We might not win the flag, but please please please please can we run into Carlton in the finals? They're still our little blue bunnies."

So a different type of final than the one we met in last year?

That article and quote were from August of 2011 lads. A few weeks before we smacked them at the G in the first final.

Agreed - funny buggers most likely. They hate Carlton too much.

But Agro is right - if they get blown away on ANZAC Day the comments will arise that the day should be given to teams who will put up a better contest

I'm after some help from whoever can provide it.

I am a Captains Club GA member, i generally go on my own.
My old man is a standard GA member.
This week against the scum we are going together and i'm having real trouble booking tickets. I am being told by ticketek that my old man's standard GA membership, for which he has essentially paid for his entry to X amount of home games, cannot be used to sit with me in the CC, so he must pay full price ie $35-40 to sit with me. I said to the consultant i dont understand why but just move us to another section where we can both use our pre-paid entry via our membership to sit together. I was then told that this was not possible as my seating area is CC. I seem to be going around in circles and im certainly getting frustrated.
I eventually gave up and tried online. Once i enter the 2 barcodes it wont let me select any tickets as the 'memberships don't have common entitlements'.
F#$% me.
I just want to sit somewhere within the 95,000 seats, together with my old man, and either of us not have to pay full bloody price (as we shouldn't have to).

What do i do?
Any other CC members have this issue?
Any help at all would be brilliant
cheers

They are right in that even if you are still a Carlton member but not a CC member you have to pay the full price to sit in the CC section. Which is fair enough as CC members pay a lot more per year than standard GA members.

But I don't know why you cannot get two seats together elsewhere with two different membership types. It's our home game and only our second for the year, so not like your memberships do not give you away game entitlements.
I have upgraded mine (CC 17 game GA) and my dad's (standard 17 game GA) for the Hawthorn game and got 2 seats together.

The only thing I can think of is that its too close to the game and you cannot get 2 seats together at all anywhere.

Anyone know where I can watch this game in Perth? I've noticed that many of the pubs around can be very hit and miss as to what they're televising.

Anywhere with Fox Footy playing Stone Free... most pubs should have Foxtel so you could ask them to put it on. Carl v Ess is scheduled to finish just as the pre-match for WCE v Haw starts, so you should be right.

In further news, Essendon* now have the worst odds after GWS in terms of having a win next weekend with a line of -39.5 for the Blues.

The WA blues are holding a function at the Odin Tavern in Balcatta. It's on Erindale road just off the freeway and is usually pretty well attended.

Thought these articles from exactly one year ago might make interesting pre-game reading:

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/t ... 1di0c.html
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/h ... 1di0q.html

Especially like the (now laughable) comments that:
- Essendon* is now seen by rival clubs as having a better collection of talent than Carlton
- Five out of six football department officials at rival clubs assessed the Bombers to have a slight edge over the Blues in terms of the talent at each club's disposal
- Essendon* was seen to have superior depth to the Blues
- Essendon* was better for under-22-year-olds and thus probably ''closer to a premiership''

I heard Bomber Thompson saying they had some plans for Carlton (DOH!). I reckon they will play C graders and go the knuckle.

Bomber also said they were looking towards Wednesday's game, and will be resting players.

Mind games? Nah. I reckon they think they can actually beat collingwood.

The way Collingwood are travelling they may be right.

I agree. Essendon* are a chance to beat the Pies. I didn't rate their performance against the Blues at all...
