confidence is everything in football!
the more players you have with self doubt the less good youre going to be.
some teams are better at handling the mind dimmension than others.
we are not one of the better clubs at handling mind issues.
we have had a few players on the footy scrap pile over the last couple of years.
thornton,bower,grigg,walker,setanta etc
some have shown something when we have given them belief!
i think collingwood are miles ahead when it comes to players feeling good about themselves.
to just believe it cant be improved and is natural is ludicrous in an era of high intensity and work load on individual players you need everybody up and firing .
Confidence does mean a lot, no doubt.
Had have you used that argument against Carlton early last year, I would have agreed with you.
Murphy, Thornton and Yarran have openly admitted their improvement for Ratten showing faith in them and Walker may well be in that boat, also.
Some may be better which is very possible, but we're not completely unaware of keeping the group up and as at this point in time, they are.
I understand that Ratten gave the boys a blast yesterday for their showing on the weekend, yet applauded Bower for his efforts.
Maybe he was just doing a "Thornton" with him right now.
he has shown it in the past doing well on reiwoldt cloke and buddy so i reckon he is one we must get right mentally!
im not sure what is going on with some players but they look low vibe and unsure!
the trick is juggling stuff so we dont drop any of.them .
everyone must be ready to play when called upon.
