Brock McLean found "Not guilty" by VFL tribunal.

I guess he is available for selection if fit

Thankfully its round 17. Not a final.

We could still cause an upset (everything crossed).

Hopefully come finals time we will be healthier and our coaching team will be wiser by having had these tough calls put on them through the H&A season. Who knows, maybe this pressure on our team provides opportunity for us to develop into a better side come finals (possibly with a trick or two up our sleeve).

Go blue boys.

its a bit of a meaningless game in the grand scheme of things, id be resting players

i know flirting with form is deadly but we are hurting right now, we have a lot of injured and sore players

top 4 is not the be all and end all

win 1 more game this season and we are pretty much guaranteed finals

win 2 more and we are pretty much guaranteed a final in melbourne

gear up for the finals with a fully fit list and unleash the assault then

lets not waste all our resources on getting in to the top 4 and limping out in straight sets with a bunch of injured, tired players

Bower to Cloke
Has a good record on power forwards. Nobody can out body Cloke but Bower is more likely to run off his opponent than Hendo or Thornton
Bring in Austin 5th year with Dawes out provides size down back. keep him in the ones for a few weeks unless he is shit. otherwise might as well put the que in the rack now
Play Thornton upforward . He aint the future but at least he provides some size in the forward line
Hendo in attack he is the only guy that can take a contested mark in the forward 50

the game will be won in the middle as all games are but geez we were so undersized when Waite went off. The issue must be addressed by the MC.
Hope Warnock's second efforts are better against Jolly otherwise we are !@#$%&

I can't believe I agree with Keogh

I'm also in agreement with Keogh.

Unless you have a permanent tall focal point, it takes opportunities away from Eddie and Jeff, and it allows the opposition defense to sit on Walker & nullify him.

As short as we are on defense, with no Waite and no Setanta I think Hendo has to start forward.
If Cloke starts beating his oppoonent, then consider sending Hendo back.

But we need a proper CHF and I think Ratts needs to have faith in Hendo - Kruze/Warnock as a secondary target.

Ideal scenario:

Honourable loss this week
Limp into 4th
Smash them week 1 of finals

but why bring in Austin if Dawes is out. We should use that as an opportunity to play another running player.

Collingwood are persisting with 5 talls, a ruck and Leigh Brown, plus they have plenty of tall mids/flankers. There's marking power galore in the side and enough to skill to make use of it all.

We need to be able to compete in 1-on-1s as well as on the ground.

If we try to match them player for player and spend our time worrying about them we will lose by 15goals IMO. We need to get back to doing what we do well. We need to get them wondering why they have so many talls in their team. We need to apply pressure all day and use our small forwards to separate their defense and then hit them on the way back. Personally i am prepared to wear a loss if they out mark us inside their 50 providing we get back to applying the sort of pressure around the ball that we know we can for as long as we can. Providing we inject run back into our game.

At the most they will play 3 talls in their foward line. Henda(or tbird) / bower and Laidler should match up ok. Cloke Brown and Keefe are scary only because of cloke.

This is just my opinion. Ratts wants the players to be bold then the coaches should bold up too.

It worked last time, it's just that we had Watson as the second KPD. This time around we have more stock available.

I'm not sure anyone here has the solution.
Pies are just a pretty good side at the moment.
Be great to win but I really can't see it happening.
Don't hold it against me.

I agree for the most part.

Reckon if it was anyone but Collingwood they'd be sending in the "B" team without a doubt. It will be interesting to see the selections tomorrow.

Send Hampson, Waite and Jamison to Arizona for altitude training.

This has allegedly got Dane Swan's season back on track.

It must be hard to walk into a top side and perform against the Roos and Sydney. :sly:

I have been spruiking this for a couple of weeks. With our late bye we can be well placed come finals time. We just need to get our players back. Get our game in order and then spend the last 3 weeks of the season doing a mini pre season. Heavy training loads then taper for finals.

If we fight too hard for top4 we will end up stuffed by finals time.

People will say you cant go anywhere in finals if you dont finish top 4 but top 6 with a late bye has never been measured.

Agreed. I wouldn't be playing anyone who isn't fit.

I'd like to see us try a few different things. Robbo as a fwd on Maxwell. Yarran to a wing or forward maybe, Scotland in the centre etc.

Here's a thought, why not beat Collingwood and then start rotating/resting our players while we play the Melbourne's, North Melbourne's, etc .... f**cking beat Collingwood.

Robbo is too critical for us in the midfield. Probably our 3rd best midfielder.

Excuses and cop outs. If our players listened to some of our supporters then we are truly gone for 2011 not just this game.

Bookmark this Gro, if we lose on Saturday and even lose big, then we will not make any inroads come September. You cannot limp into finals and expect to turn it on when it suits you!
I'll live in lala land then thanks.
