Can you just take out a 3 game membership for her and if you have a reserved seat she can sit in your lap?

Agro, just rang the club and they dont cater for 3 game memberships for juniors. I said was there anything on offer, but there wasn't, just a flat $67 for all teh games.

I will take my daughter but she can get in for free as she is under 6 yo. So thats a loss for the club for having no flexibility. I would have forked ot $20 - $30 no worries, but $67 for two games I couldnt justify.

What do interstate members think?

I view my interstate/long distance membership as a donation to the club; there's no real value in it.

To answer your question though: from a viewing perspective I don't give a rats arse where we play, I don't even care if we win or lose; I'm just happy to watch my team play.

From a strategical point of view, I'd rather play at the MCG because we have a better record there.

I fly down from Sydney for Between 12 and 15 of our games each year so my interstate membership is good. As far as other people not being members I have no idea. Etihad is a great venue. I know the G is the best venue but I'd go anywhere to watch us play and I don't care what it costs.

Ten years ago they tried to basically kill us off the AFL we had our lean period. That period showed a lot about how strong we are. There are a lot of other Victorian based clubs that punishment would have killed off. The fact we survived and are about to thrive is testament to what a strong club we have.

I see the club has an advert on the club website regarding 3 game memberships with 3 home games in a row coming up. They really should go all out with a campaign to promote these especially as it looking more likely than not that we will make finals and being a member is one of the only ways to get finals tickets. Maybe stalling Murphy's announcement will coincide with a membership drive?

    your a champ NB, so are you Lurker.

I'm like NB. I plan on a dozen games (usually Bris, Adel, Syd,Perth for business and footy) and the rest are in Melb.
A lot of the time I don't even have my membership with me when I'm in Melb and just pay at the gate.

The membership for me, my family and friends (I buy a few) is about a sense of loyalty, a sense of belonging to something great, and a financial contribution to the club to keep the spirit going. As my son Carlton says to kids and teachers at his Catholic school his dad's religion is Carlton.

Still not good enough from our supporters.

Our players are busting a gut this year, and still 6,000 members from last year have not bothered to renew.

You watch them all complain and fall over themselves to jump on the wagon to get finals tickets.

Damn shame really...........

When compared to other clubs' numbers it's not that fantastic.

Nevertheless, well done to those who have stuck true blue.

need a good showing in finals football to get the big numbers. If we play Prelim or better this year, you watch them jump on in their droves next year.

Good effort to break our record, but seriously though with our support base we should've cracked the 50,000 mark comfortably

We are heading in the right direction.

Well done on breaking the previous record.
$42000 is nothing to sneeze at. That is still damn good.

We have not yet completed 101 in marketing, and in particular salesmenship like other clubs have, but when Jeannie gets on board and puts the membership drive into gear I bet we pass 50,000 easily.

Well done Bluebaggers

Only they'd do that.

It makes sense....they did it to encourage people to join up....it worked.

I kinda hope we're getting more than a dollar per member

Yep agreed.

It's amazing how quickly membership expectations have changed, though. It'd only a few years back that 40K was a big target.

I dont reckon I am being hard when I say that as we do have a massive supporter base but need to tap into it better.
