Funny there's no mention of the Swans being up by 14 points at half time, which should be over 4 goals if you use Stevens logic.

So what'll be in tomorrow's paper...?

Blues leave Judd out in the cold

Image

While many of his teammates ventured to sunnier skies on golf trips or rugged up in front of their flat screen TV's watching the NBA playoffs, Chris Judd was given the cold shoulder yesterday as he completed a sharp training session on his own at Visy Park. The Blues Captain and reigning Brownlow medalist cut a forlorn figure as he shivered through one of the coldest May days in over a decade to chase his own football around the once hallowed turf.

The lack of players or coaching staff present at the one man training session is believed to be in response to Judd leaving many of his teammates off the invitation list at his nuptials to Rebecca Judd on New Years Eve. A source close to the club said many Carlton players felt alienated and had decided to 'give Judd some of his own medicine'.

The factions and in-fighting is nothing new at Carlton who are synonymous with salary cap rorting. Their own third-party deal with Judd through disgraced businessman Richard Pratt's 'Visy' company has been brought into question again in 2011, with Pratt matriarch Jeanne joining the Carlton board as Senior Vice President earlier in the year.

No Carlton official would return calls yesterday amid speculation an extraordinary board meeting would be called to address the Judd training session. Brett Ratten is believed to be privately seething the training was not closed to the public nor media. Judd's mother, Lisa Engel is also believed to be furious at her son placing his wife and unborn child at risk of serious respiratory infection.

A former Carlton person stated, 'The ramification of his actions are huge. I wouldn't expect Carlton to make the finals from here'.

You forgot to mention the fact that it's further proof of Carlton being a one man team.

Throw in a mention of "Former Carlton full forward Brendan Fevola" no matter how tenuous and we're done.

I'm marking it down because no mention of the "Player Bribery Scandal of 1910".

In further developments, witnesses have reported to have seen a distraught Judd awaken his inner demons and late this afternoon was seen drinking a concoction of gatorade & gin out of a hip flask with former Carlton full forward Brendan Fevola. The pair were seen on the grave of disgraced three time Carlton premiership player Alex 'Bongo' Lang at the nearby Melbourne General Cemetery. Lang was found guilty of match fixing in 1910 and banned for 99 games, ironically, the number of goals Fevola kicked for the Blues in 2008.

According to the journo's this is a summary of our year to date

R1 - Lucky to beat Richmond (despite dominating in every facet of the game bar 15 minutes in the 3rd) - Brave Tigers

R2 - We were expected to thump a bunch of kids, so we cant take anything from this (Even though more than half tipped against us..Hutchinson claiming Gold Coast were certainties)

R3 - We lost to the pies by 28 points, but they were in cruise control and not taking us as a srious contender.

R4 - Draw to a team that was down 2 players on the bench. Eventhough the interchange rule means you are less diadvantaged. We were also the ones who let them back in with critical errors.. - Brave Dons

R5 - see R1..brave Crows

R6 - needed the greatest performance of all-time by our skipper to win..Also had a decision go our way which resulted in a goal (despite us already having hit the lead at that stage, but like FW DeKlerk famously said on the Late Show "There you go again, putting facts in the story)...- brave Swans

R7 - See R1 & R5..despite Ross Lyon claiming they would have pinched it, Saints robbed because Milne wasnt paid a 50/50 decision with 7 minutes to go- Brave Saints

Seriously guys, we should be 1-6 at this stage of the year!!

Bluey44, your repeated posts are probably funnier if deliberate than accidental given the nature of the Essendon* commentary appearing in the Hun.

I liked the angle the Herald Sun took on the fact that Essendon* is about to loose a major sponsor as a positive thing.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/bombers-hunt-25million-a-season-sponsor/story-e6frf9jf-1226063070048

I wonder if they would have the same angle if it was the Blues? I think they would have gone down the turmoil/crisis angle that yet another sponsor has walked out on the Blues and then listed the following in no particular order:

Salaray cap cheating
Tanking
Booze cruise
Criminal president
Judd's questionable contract

Extraordinary, even by the Hun's standards
