In Ratts email he stated training on friday at the Gabba, anyone know if this is an open session?

If I can make the game it would be nice to see them train!

to any Perth people reading this, is there any chance seeing this game somewhere in Perth?
Ill be there for the weekend. Thanks!!

Ahhh !@#$%&! Just looked at the TV guide  Welcome to our world TheSwan.

There will be a few places that will probably have it. Odin Tavern is the place where the WA Blues meet to watch games (http://www.wablues.com/). If you are staying in the city it is a bit of a hike out there. I'm pretty sure the Inglewood also has games that aren't Egirls or Shockers. Otherwise you need to find an illegal internet stream :hitcomputer:

how frustrating for you. thanks for the info

Ahh Perth ya gotta love it.
I love how the AFL want to grow the game but god help you if you support anyone but the local team.
I guess I can turn on that other crap round ball game and use my red foxtel button to choose any game in the universe.

OUT: Thornton White Lucas

If Hendo is earmarked to play the following week against The Pies, then a run in the seniors this weekend (in a not so danger game) would do him the world of good...and we'd learn a bit about him too. I think some underestimate his ability to play AFL, but then again I may be unrealistic with my expectations of him. Overall, he hasn't put a foot wrong in the seniors thus far...imo.

Jamison will be returning against the Pies, so whoever the FB is this week is only a temp and it would be great to blood Watson against the Kids on the GC.

With the return of Hendo, Jamo and Bower over the next week or weeks it's inevitable that White and TBird are there as fill ins, and the same goes with Watson, so no point in getting too precious over their inclusions this weekend.

If Hendo is selected as a sub, and we have no injuries, then he can replace Watson if need be or vice versa.

I also doubt that Ellard would be replacing Curnow this weekend after his great performance in his first AFL game.

We have to win for Judd's 200th.
I want our players to be carrying him (after the game) for something new.

Would have been nice if this issue had been addressed in the email. Website still not updated with training times. Don't trust the people at the club to provide the right information :donk:

Sub needs to be a mid, or at very least a running flanker.
Playing a KPP as a sub (or even worse a ruck, like Sydney did) is a recipe for disaster. You need to cover your tall positions in your starting 21.

Not playing a tall as sub nearly cost us last week when Waite when off injured. Yarran, Armfield, Walker, Robinson and Betts can play all mdifield in bursts if required.

It really is a @#$%&! disgrace that yet again, foxtel and 10 will be showing the exact same games at the exact same times. The sheer stupidity of it is that the two games they have blacked out because of it are the Collingwood game in the afternoon and the Carlton game in the evening - arguably the two teams outside West Coast and Freo that have the biggest following over here - and not only that probably one of the biggest games of the past decade outside a GF for neutral fans - the entry of a new team into the AFL.

Has anyone from Foxtel ever bothered trying to explain this to us? And WTF can't 10 show one game on channel 10 and the other on channel one or 11??

Not at all.
Not having any coverage in the 21 (ie Waite was the only true KPP in the whole team) was what cost us. If we had Hendo at CHF, or 1 of Bower or Jamo in the backline, we would have been fine.
Suppose we had a Hendo as a sub, and Murphy or Judd got injured?
Runners get tired, but talls don't get shorter. You need a runner as the sub.

Should win by over 50 points if we are any good.
Gold Coast are way too raw at the minute. I'm looking forward to flying up and have a watch in the warm weather.

It's not hard to see that it's going to be 'big bad nasty horrible old Carlton' this week.

I expected this response from you...because you are consistent on this point.

I know where you are coming from Stamos, but your premise is just a theory, as it is for everyone in the footy community.
As Roosy said on Monday night's OTC we have to wait and see till round 4-5 before we know how the Sub works.
Hey, you may just be correct too Stamos; I don't dismiss that, but this is not a danger game (like the game against the Tiggers wasn't suppose to be)...only problem we had in the 3rd when our structure was a problem.

Going into the game last week without Jamison, Bower, Henderson, Kreuzer (I think) we went in with one less tall than what we would have liked, and with one tall (Waite) going off early nearly cost us the game; we were left short (boom boom).

There was no flexibility with the personnel we selected to fix up the structure (once we lost Waite) with blokes like TBird and White a little short for the KPD role. You have to remember that last week we were scratching for talls to select in the 22, with Setanta also injured and Austin underdone...and McCarthy and Mitchell couldn't be considered either. So it shouldn't come as a shock that we need to replace one of the midfielders (and I suggest Lucas) for a tall.

As long as we have 3 midfielders on the bench for the game, I think it doesn't change anything from last year, except we have to rotate rucks on the forwardline.

For this game, against the kids of the GC, I don't think they are going to stretch us after half time, so I reckon that Watson or Hendo can be a sub and swap them, because ideally we would want to play Jamo, Bower and Hendo against the Pies in a fortnight and the run will do Hendo and us more good than bad imo.

I'd rather play Hendo starting, and sub him off if he gets tired (or even plan to sub him off early in the second half), than start him on the bench, and sub him on.

Don't worry about it. It's just an anomaly in the broadcast agreement.

You can be rest assured in the next 5 year agreement, there will be no less FTA coverage of non-WA teams.

Their backline would almost be more experienced than ours? (Bock, Krakeour, Brown, Harbrow ...)

We will still wipe em tho, midfield dominance like you've never seen

Try living in sydney with just FTA-

Friday night game after 11pm

no saturday arvo game

Saturday night after 11pm

Sunday Arvo usually if sydney is playing either that after 11 pm

OWAAT after 11
We get Game day live channel 72
Gameplan - not shown
Footyshow after 11pm
Footy classified - not shown
Before the game - occassionally
Sunday 7pm wrap on one HD live

and they are trying to start a footy side up here in Western sydney where they cant afford Fox
