Since every big mouth has made Bower our new whipping boy.

Thanks it's good to be back.

Obviously with a few injury concerns the team will have to change and a few players need to put in a good showing against Coburg on Friday to cement their place. Hopefully Henderson Russell play a full game don't pull up sore and we have no more suspensions this week. I think the side is going to be our least experienced for some time and will have to be selected on the basis of those who are 100% fit getting preference at selection hence
B:Armfield, Watson Laidler
HB: Scotland, Waite, Yarran
C: Simpson, Curnow, Lucas
HF:Collins, Casboult, Garlett
F: Betts,Walker, Murphy

Foll: Warnock, Judd, Gibbs
Int: Hampson, Duigan, Robinson and Russell
Russell as substitute - as he is still getting back to full fitness.
With Casboult Hampson and Warnock we have 3 rucks and Warnock and Hampson can both play resting full forward if there is an injury to a key position player so I went for a substitute to cover one of our medium players). Ther are a lot of versatile players in this team such as Simpson Scotland Walker Armfield Yarran Garlett Duigan can play wing, defence, or half forward. With Yarran on the HBF it will be interesting to see how he copes and how the Tigers try to exploit him.

Come on bondiblue ... take it easy man ... it was just a joke .. but certainly not about him being injured. As I have said before I would be over the moon if Bower had a good year.

I'm just testing you and I was hoping you weren't a hater....I don't mean to be personal, but I have to if I'm addressing you...don't I?

Next time you're at Princes Park, or if you jump on the ground and stand next to Bower...that's a buzz in itself...just have a look at the size of him (Height & weight) and think about how fast and how hard he really is at pace, because that's something the power forwards (whatever you call those gorillas, fast or not) haven't got over him. He is fast. So fast he rarely gets caught. He looks [REDACTED], but I don't give a @#$%&! whilst he keeps getting away with shit hardly anybody else does.

Just respects what he actually does do (glass is half full...bird in the hand...)

Bower creates the loose man.

Armfield creates the loose man.

Judd ceates a loose man.

Yarran creates the loose man.

Gibbs creates the loose man.

Murphy creates the loose man.

Scotland creates the loose man and from our squad he started it.

Gartlett, Betts & Walker say no more...

Simpson taught the new lot to create the loose man by taking the game on.

Kreuzer creates the loose man with his 2nd & 3rd efforts.

I reckon Tuohy creates a loose man

Now consider how many lose men we create....not every team has plenty...we should encourage taking the game on...are you with me?

How could we beaten for the next flag if we have the most loose men in a physical game....with similar skill courage.....etc etc
Easier said than done, but there is a set of rules professionals should be able to follow.
Simple: don't get caught, don't give away a free, suck up as many defenders as possible, take the hit, make sure your team mate gets the next passage of play, likely to continue the loose man........flag

I hope we have close to a full list next week. Kreuzer missing is bad enough.

Revisiting the team based on latest injuries:

Yarran, Watson, Laidler
Duigan, Waite, Russell
Lucas, Gibbs, Siimo
Murphy, Henderson, Robinson
Betts, Hampson, Walker

Warnock, Judd, Curnow

Scotland, Armfield, Garlett

Waite on Reiwoldt
Laidler on Miller
Watson on Vickery
Yarran on Nahas

Pace off the bench to burn and Scotland who adds physicality to the contest. Not sure who to have as a Sub? T-Bird or White.

So the reason Casboult has been upgraded?

Watson and Henderson as key backs, Casboult can play forward and changing ruck, Hammer to miss out to add flexibility for a White/Austin/T-Bird type on the bench. Well that's my theory anyway.

Or... no Setanta, Krezuer, Mitchell = Levi is 3rd ruck and 4th tall forward by default. Needed to come onto the senior list, but Hammer will play.

with Bower injured and Jamo out, i'd expect both Watson and Thornton to get a guernsey.

Thornton to play down back or switch with Waite if he is deemed best for Jack R.

If Jamison and Bower out then thorton has to play in a very green inexperienced defence

And both ruckmen need to play as we'll need them to help out dropping in the hole as well as up forward.

I'd play Hendo down back, goes alright there and right now Waite is the main go to guy up forward, removing him from the forwardline now would be madness

Thornton and Henderson down back, with Waite and Hammer/206 the 2 forwards

Seriously 206 could kick a bag against the Tigers

Another adjustment based on players getting through the Bullants today.

Yarran, Watson, Laidler
Duigan, Waite, Russell
Lucas, Gibbs, Siimo
Garlett Henderson, Robinson
Betts, Hampson, Walker

Warnock, Judd, Murphy

Scotland, Armfield, McLean. Sub = T-Bird

Waite on Reiwoldt
Laidler on Miller
Watson on Vickery
Yarran on Nahas

Pace off the bench to burn and Scotland who adds physicality to the contest. Not sure who to have as a Sub? T-Bird or White.[/quote]

Or Hendo for that matter
Not sure why people keep banging on about putting either of them down back when it simply wont happen. There are other options available

I'd be playing Thornton up forward and Waite down back to start....Casboult is no where near senior footy level at the present moment....

Waite has played the entire pre season as a forward and this is where Waite will be playing in round 1.

Agree - waite will always be our main avenue for goal, only swung down back in times of need (lets hope that there arent too many of these)

Don't see any reason why Waite can't play back against Richmond.

If Bower isn't available, I expect:

B Duigan White Yarran
HB Laidler Waite Russell
C Simpson Murphy Gibbs
HF Collins Henderson Armfield
F Garlett Hampson Betts
R Warnock Judd Scotland
INT Walker, Curnow, Thornton, Joseph
EMERG Robinson, Watson, Lucas

Isn't White injured?

I White is our FB, then Riewoldt will boot 12

No way should Waite play down back, that is conceding the upperhand to Richmond before the ball is bounced.

Henderson played defense when at Brisbane and one of his best games was down back. It's not like he's in major goal scoring form right now.
