Sorry, it's you and this post that bring disgrace to the Carlton Football Club.
Any man who battles manfully through a couple of serious shoulder injuries and a knee reconstruction to run out 99 times in the the navy blue deserves our admiration and thanks not the tripe you have posted.
Any other club would have thanked him for his services a long time ago, it's unfortunate for him not for the club. You're talking like his a 199 game player? You speak of his battles through injury like he's not been the only one? Please find me a current player in the one of the teams in the top4 which has been on their clubs list for 8yrs battling injurys then come out and helped them resurrect their performances? All I can see on the 4 lists in the following.
Collingwood.
Josh Fraser, I can understand their patience as he was a No.1 draft pick. But he's obviously not in their best 22 after investing so much in him and putting up with his hampering injurys. Sad for him but his times running out, if not has run out!
Geelong.
Anyone on their list who's been at the club for more than 4 years is in the starting 22.
StKilda.
Raphael Clark. Invested in this hack for so long, what has he done? keeps getting injured. Big wraps on him, unfortunately just doesn't cut it!
Doggies.
Tim Callan. Who's that you're thinking? Exactly, another long invested unlucky one who just can't make it.
Not one of those 4 teams has relied on injury prone players to be successful. Ok so maybe he's not a disgrace to the CFC I chose the wrong words it's our recruitment who are the disgrace for investing so long in a pick 72. he's busted his ass, good luck to him, but enough is enough!
In order to be successful in anything you do, as a club or an individual, you need to make hard choices which at the time may seem harsh.
Weak decisions are being made from above, only that sought of impression gets filtered down to young players! THESE ARE YOUNG MEN DON'T FORGET, NO LIFE EXPERIENCE WITH DEALING WITH THE HARSH REALITYS LIFE THROWS AT YOU!
Look how long it took to get rid of Fev?
Think of your first ever job, if you walked in and saw someone clowning around or constantly failing to achieve their KPI but were always given a chance over and over again by management, what would the expectation levels you'd set for yourself be? Indeed your answer at the time would be reflected on the way you saw that certain individual being treated. But if you walked into the job seeing everyone busting their ass to achieve their KPI and made to suffer consequences if they didn't, then your IMMEDIATE attitude would be "shit, i gotta knuckle down and give this my best, these guys don't tolerate shit!"
My point is, as a club, allowing players on your list to see guys like Brad Fisher hang around for so long and still have a chance to make the senior side then make 0 impression on the field will create a bad image for the younger players.
Many have come and gone like him, that's football! I don't know why after so many years of rebuilding YOU are happy to see old stock given another go and made a 100 game player when there's a bunch young guys waiting to be given an opportunity who can perform equal if not better then him?
You must be forgetting that he's 26 years old?
Anyway, I'm sorry but if you're thinking that Brad Fisher is suddenly going to burst onto the scene and create havoc for oppositions and be a dominant finals player then it's weak minded give-ups like you who make this football club look pathetic and soft!
