Ratts needs to coach like he played.
With more conviction.
No More I s'pose, Probably and maybe in every second sentence.
Anyone out there a teacher? Imagine you stand in front of a class and say "I s'pose, Probably, maybe "
Imagoine Gillard or Abbott say to you "I s'pose, Probably, maybe"
Ouch!
This is another of my big bug-bears about Ratten's playing ability.
He was fantastic..yes. And was great in and under most of the time.
However... and this will get me hounded out a lot...
His skill level was less than spot on. Being an in and under player in his hey-day, getting the meant getting it out and throwing it on the boot any-old how. I think this is one of the problems with our current skill level. It just is Not Up To Scratch. (NUTS - a bit like Nick Riewoldt really).
And anyone with any nouse of a footballing brain or even a research brain can go back and look at Rattens performances in BIG games. He went missing more often than not.

What annoys me most at the moment is this insistence in playing a loose man in defence and allowing our opposition to do the same.
Over the past 5 weeks we have been lamentable in bringing the ball forward and then kicking it straight to this bloke who just waltzes out and uses the overlap of an excess player to attack...much of the time through the middle. Fair dinkum, it is inspid.
Noticeably, today, when Ratten decided NOT to allow this to happen in the third term we managed to put on some attacking pressure inside 50, we managed to kick a few goals. We were still lamentable but at least there were not extra opposition blokes playing with themselves in our 50.
