If Ratts knows his own mettle he will resign - he has lost the players by a long way.

Violence is never the answer.

Unless the question is "What is never the answer?"

Norf are smashing the Tigers too. What's our % now? not that I think it will matter come season end cause we'll be lucky to win another game.

Usual tactics got us. Push players back making it impossible for us to pinpoint a target inside fifty and then run like hell once we turn it over. Break even in the clearances and you have a win.

I reckon North doing it to us opened us up to all comers.

Ratts is relying on our midfield to win it but for the last month our midfield has looked like it didnt care (except for judd).
We need to apply more pressure around the packs and when they have it so that we can get goals on the rebound before the floods get set up. No pressure early today but got a little better in the 3rd and last.

Hard work and solution focussed attitude can lead us out of the doom.

PS will be good to get out of the dome. Time to negotiate a deal at the MCG and hopefully one day get dream run home on the g like the maggies. They will win 10 in a row on the g including GF to close out AFL for 2o1o (Blueman style prediction).

it's hard to replace Fevola.

The way Fev is going he would have fitted right in. 2 kicks this week not sure his current form would help the team at all.

I had to work today so couldn't go, which was a blessing in disguise. I notice by the stats that Jamo had 2 possies. he must do better. At the moment he gives us nothing but defence. What has happened to the team of the first 8 weeks. Changing players is like swapping deck chairs on the Titanic. Our refurbished forward line seemed woeful. Finally Ellard might get a game. Also why not play Davies and anyone else in the 2s who hasn't had a go. Fish needs a few games for his 100th and is going well. He will be found out for pace at Subi, but nothing else is working. Lets try a few players out.

Middle of the road interstate sides are normally 3 goals better at home and three goals worse away, which makes our performance even worse. Over the last 7 years we have had 3 pick#1, #2,#3, #4, #6, #9, # 11, #12, #19, #21, #23, #24, #25. (Not sure of the exact numbers in the 20s but close enough) We have swapped a few of these profitably for Judd and wastefully for Warnock and McLean. We won't ever get this good a go at the draft again, and we are looking distinctly middle of the road. If we have the talent then the coach and assistants are at fault. Or maybe we don't have the talent. The only thing left to change is the coach as we can't top up on talent with GC and GWS. I think we should see Ratts contract out, but why did we extend it from 2-4 years so early? Chances are we would be better with a more experienced and authorative coach, but I don't think we have the talent to win a flag and I am not sure where we will get the additional talent needed.

COllingwood don't have that many talented players what they have is a talented TEAM

What we have are talented players on every line but a talentless team.

Coaches [all of them] exit.

Absolutely bloody dreadful. This is just not good enough. I love the Blues, but the tepid, limp-wristed crap that is getitng served up drives you crazy. I could respect getting done when you had a real dip. But not this. I was all for seeing how Ratts developed and giving him time. They missed the boat in not bringing in some better quality assistants, and that boat has not only sailed but seems to have capsized. The players aren't playing for him, our quality players aren't being used well or and the development isn't there. Our window for achieving what we set out for is in the next few years, and I can't believe Ratts will get us there. He must be on his knees thanking God that Knights and Voss are keeping the attention from him. The fact it wasn't a 15 goal hiding will probably let him hide the problem under a discussion of stats.

They have to change the coaching staff. The club needs a real, bloody hard look at itself. If we were Richmond, we could put up with this sort of crap. But we're Carlton.. that says it all. And unfortunately, that doesn't say what it should at the moment.

Drop players who aren't performing or are just soft. Bring in players who will bust a gut. Ellard has to get a go now. For the love of all that is navy, bring him in so I at least know we care about performances and not just the 'clique' even a little bit.

Rant over... Fuming continues.

Only got to listen to the last quarter and a bit, sounded like that was a good thing.

Was Hendo injured? didnt hear his name i dont think & he only had like 4 possies.

Sounds as though we have alot of passengers. Not many showin heart.

Walks looks to be out for a few from the head high bump.

Hammer sounds to of presented well but i doubt he can be a future fwd so why persist? He cant kick consistently.

The three small fwds arent firing anymore and havent for like a month....either drop one or play one up the ground........

Dont know if this is silly but we should try Gibbs fwd ala Goddard......is a decent size, can take a strong grab & is a beautiful kick

I hear what you are saying but as well as having a good team they do have some very good players and more talent than us. Malthouse has had 11 years to stamp his style on the playing list whoever is on it and it looks like it is going to finally pay off for him.

Whether Collingwood has more talent than us is an arguable point... which I am not going to really consider delving into. What I see are the players are lost.... totally and completely lost.

Gday guys,

Long time reader of this site, never posted until now.

Season is definately over, such a shame after beating sides like geelong and st kilda earlier in the season.

A lot of people have hit the nail on the head with their comments today.

Anyone can see our structures are not working well at all, I'm not going to profess to have the answer as how to fix them because I don't know.. It will take a lot of time and work to get them working efficiently.

What I think it easily fixable, is the attitude which has been pathetic over the last month. This will improve our 1%ers.. We do not give nearly enough attention to them. Hard running for pressure on opposition ball carriers, shepherds, off the ball bumping, controlled aggression (no use giving away silly free kicks). And tackling! I thought Melbourne Storm were teaching us how to tackle? We attempt too many tackles that do not stick, and also give away too many free kicks for pushing in the back when tackling, which cost us a couple of goals today..

Given that West Coast had a big win last night and will have some confidence up, I dread next week.

One last thing, the AFL have to do something about the bloody surface at Etihad.. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Welcome Marcus and great first post !

We need to get back to doing the basics well and then work from there.

Call me fickle... Call me what you want, but I will not attend another game this year until the team give me reason to believe that they actually give a sh*t... The last 5 weeks have been an absolute disgrace to this Club....
