It's a professional football team.

Anyway, I think this dance is done.

For record IMO :
Thorton out, Waite in (and hopefully he doesn't thump anyone this week).
Setanta out, someone who can take an overhead mark in - Fisher'll do.
I like the way Setanta goes about things but his performances just don't
justify continued selection.

I'm not a moron. Jamo came over and gave him a pat, it was the decent thing to do.

It's the only reason Gibbs should get a game, problem is this poser, (yes poser) knows it because he probably figures he'll get Goodes if its a run with role.

If I was Roos I'd play Goodes out of the forward line and then Gibbs will go somewhere else or get his pants pulled down by Goodes.

Ratts , show us you've got a pair, and drop Gibbs. Don't take the soft option again by dropping second stringers or crucifying guys by giving them one whole game to get in the swing.

gibbs! poser??
i have a feeling i know who the 'poser' is! my suggestion would be to play the kid in the position where he's played for 15 years and can tear the game apart. THE GUTS!

let roos and his staff worry about gibbs going banana's and tearing the swans a new one!

GIBBS TO MIDFIELD!
that is all.

Terrific, put him in the midfield. But if the guy won't put his head over the ball or body on the line, then it won't matter where you play him.

And yes Gibbs is a poser. Too many games I've seen him running aroound getting cheap kicks whilst a real champ gets his body smashed to a pulp.

Here's Gibbs problem, he isn't a coward, but he certainly won't do the hard stuff unless someone challenges him or the coach puts the acid on him. I,ve seen him get the hard ball so I know he can do it, but it's not his natural game. For ttwo seasons I've been of the opinion that it much be the coaches instruction for him to hang out the back and be a distributor, but its pretty obvious that this is what he wants to do as well.

The guy needs to be dropped Dal Santo style, so we can get some hard work out of him.

The guy is simply too talented to be out of the action for long periods of the game, we have to get him involved in as much as we can and that means that a lot of the time he has to get his own footy, which he just doesn't do enough of.

Based on our last 5 games,.............. I really don't see us winning this one.

But you know what - I don't really care. A win would just disguise the fact that we are completely and utterly clueless out there.

Week in, week out, we match our opponents with Clearances, Possessions and inside 50's....... yet we dish up amateurish football barely worthy of VFL status.

Going forward, we have no idea.
Sticking Setanta in the forward line and hope he can take a contested mark is about all we've got at the moment. Far too often I would see Yarran, Betts and Jeff no-where-near setanta, ready to take the spoil.

I didn't really see the value of sticking Hendo down back either. Not when your 50points down.

Is anybody teaching Setanta how to push off and lead? Cause he doesn't do it.

It's predictable football from the coaching staff at the moment. If we're down by 20+ points, we flood up field and then hope to attack running up the ground in a soccer style format.
Far to often, turn overs are occurring due to the fact we have nobody up the ground to receive. It happened in the Freo game too and it was the main reason we lost that match.

So.......... what now for the Sydney match? Drop Setanta and bring in Waite.......... what difference does it make if we don't have a structured set-up that the players understand.
Shit-Can me all you want,.......... but the entry into our forward line says it all......... we are completely clueless!

Setanta needs to go to the Bullants and learn how to push off his opponent and lead into space.

Lappin (is he not our forwards coach?) needs to show some form of improvement in the remaining games or otherwise..... Piss Off! It's de-javu from last year, only this time he can't blame it on an 'erratic' Fevola stuffing it up......... DO SOMETHING - SHOW SOMETHING! For god sake, anything will do at this point in time.

Ins:- Lucas, Waite, Fisher,
Out:- Setanta, Thornton (you idiot) and Joseph

Setanta is clearly injured, so he goes out for Waite.
Lucas should come in for Robbo who did not look 100% fit, or one of Carrots/Scotland (whoever needs the rocket more).

Pray that Hendo pulls up ok, but if he doesn't then Fisher or Chief come in.

Would anyone object to bringing in White to play up forward?

IIRC I don't think he has played in the VFL for several weeks. Must be injured

That's my only objection to White coming in. When he's fit and back in touch, he should be in the side.

Is Bradshaw back for them this week ? If he is, you an kiss any chance of a win, and probably the finals goodbye....
The last month has probably been the worst month of football I've seen us play since the Pagan days.... Comical coaching and pathetic skill errors galore....
Gibbs needs to grow some balls and play more like a man, Judd needs to learn how to kick for goal, Setanta and Thornton need to go back to the twos, and THE SENIOR PLAYERS (APPART FROM JUDD AS HE'S THE ONLY ONE DOING IT) NEED TO HARDEN THE F*** UP AND SHOW SOME REAL LEADERSHIP OUT THERE!!!!!!!
Enough of this 'We're a young side' bull.... Being a young side doesnt stop you from protecting your mates on the field... Enough of this softc*ck football... ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

In a way, we are lucky as you know what youre going to get against the Swans.

You know that..........
Kirk will do what he does always
Bolton will get 25 touches
Mcveigh will quietly carve us up as always
Malceski is Josh Drummond with a LARS body
Shaw.....no, it hurts to much to say it
Okeefe...will make us again regret we could not land him
Goodes....is now back in town..Demetriou"Sydney, A Goodes 3 votes"
Hannaberry....its our turn to see why he is a little gem
Jack....will show Gibbs how to win a hard pill

And the best til last, the Carlton forward line will be populated by about
14 Sydney players licking their lips for the next turned over CFC forward 50 entry.

Now i really hope the MC has it in their head that all the above things WILL
more than likely happen, same as the past 17 bloody times, so gives you the
one saving grace of knowing it will happen.
So, dont THINK Ratts, DO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is there midfield that worries me most
Kirk
Bolton
Smith
McVeigh
McGlynn
Kennedy
Jack
Mumford rucking

they are all hard in and under players - under Ratts select criteria non of them would get a game at Carlton - the way we have been selecting the midfield lately you can really see the Craig Bradley influence on it

Get rid of some of these 190 plus half back flankers or the soft foward flankers and select some grunt in the midfield

O'Keefe has been playing in the guts too and don't forget Hannebery - he'll chop us up too if we don't pay him any respect. I wonder if Scooter will go to him; he paid Gysberts no respect when we played them and it didn't hurt us but it may be different this time.

Kirk normally goes to the best inside midfielder but maybe they will use McVeigh H2H with Judd again. Jack goes to Murphy...Nick Smith has done some excellent tagging roles recently so he might go to Simpson.

But yes their bigger bodied midfielders are a concern.

Is Austin fit?
Throw him up forward.
Rotate him and Henderson forward and back if necessary

I think maybe Yarran and Robinson need a rest.

Might be worth taking a punt on Ellard

How would Ellard go this week I wonder given Sydneys midfielders?

Will the MC have the cohunas to select him given the current situation?

What he would provide is a full on work ethic and a contest.

Jetta should be back in for them, so for the love of God, can we please put someone on the bloke this time.

Wouldn't mind seeing Tex back in the midfield for this one, just for some grunt more than anything.

Lucas back to take his spot across HB.

Would loved to have seen White back for this one, but his injuries won't permit unfortunately.

Ins: Warnock, Fisher, Waite, Ellard, Lucas

Outs: Hammer, Carlos, Yarran, Robbo, Houla

I have no confidence in the team to match it with the Swans. Play like we did last week and it'll be another 10+ goal loss.

What worries me, is that the Swans seem to have the wood on us even when we're in the middle of a '" good"" run.......like Hawthorn; they strangle us; yet still have enough attacking players to out score us.
