I'd start with Murphy in defence. It might teach him to be more accountable, and it may do him good to be the hunter rather than the hunted for awhile. Obviously we don't want him to be drawn to deep, and that's where he and his teammates will have to coordinate themselves to get the right match ups/positioning. AJ to do a shut down role on Sydney's running half backs. And I've been calling for this for a few weeks, but I'd bring Ellard into the midfield mix. Let's see what he's got to offer us (eg. does he have the potential to be an upgrade on Carrots?).
If Carlos is injured, give him another rest. If not, let him find some form in the VFL.
I didn't see the VFL game yesterday, but unless Austin or White had a blinder (I note neither were named in the 'best'), I think T-Bird holds his spot.
I'd persist with Hammer. I'd like to see how he goes in a forward line with Waite & Hendo functioning. I thought he made a reasonable contribution in the 2nd half yesterday, and I think what his development needs now is more exposure to the AFL tempo.
If Hendo doesn't come up, I suppose it's a choice between Fisher, Wiggo, Austin & White (Levi isn't ready, IMO).
Ultimately though, I think it's not so much about personnel for us. It's more about playing harder, smarter, and more as a TEAM.
Otherwise, not only will we not beat Sydney, we won't make the finals...
Cant see it happening ABS. Ratts is in "save my job mode" . He'll revert to picking the safest team or the team that will draw the least amount of flak iIf it all goes to sh1t again.
Don't expect any bold or creative coaching until there seasons gone down the crapper and Ratts has nothing to lose.
