Sorry mate but not sure what you were watching.
You must been getting a beer when Thornton almost kicked on the full, missed passes and generally butchered and buggered up everything he went near. A good performance against Kennedy would have been playing in front and chopping off the space that he ran into.
Thornton has run his race at Carlton, tries hard but we need more now.
Anderson is a dud and will be dropped, simply can't pick up a man, win the ball and then cleanly dispose of it. Will be delisted as his contract expires.
Yeah l guess we don't have Fevola to complain about on TC and Rattens winning games, so l guess Thornton has to be the next target.
I really don't have an issue with Thornton. Might make a couple mistakes, but so do a lot of players in the team. JR nearly gives a goal away every game. Alot of times he will not go in hard or turn it over on the wing/middle of the ground and goal is resulted from that. But, because he turns it over 2-3 possessions before a goal is kicked. It doesn't stand out. Luckily opposition have kicked behinds the last couple times. I will admit, JR has improved a lot but still can be costly at times. But, if we going to be critical about disposal lets not just target one player.
Yes tBIrd switches the play and there is nothing wrong with that. All teams do that. He actually has a look at the best options up the ground, rather then just playing on and giving it to a team mate in trouble. Why kick it down the ground on the wing to a pack of 10 players, when you can switch it towards the middle of the ground and open up the corridor.
When Bower comes back, Jamo/Bower will take the number 1 and 2 defenders. Thornton will play 3rd tall and fill the space and take the contested mark like Tom Harley used to do for the Cats. Thornton did that a lot last year. He saved a lot of goals doing this last year.
