Easy to say now he's gone. Funny that people had the exact opposite response at the time.
But then again, it's not surprising, is it?
Am happy to say that all my posts about fevola are consistent with current view. Go back and look if in doubt. Got sick of saying "I told you so" after every complete and utter !@#$%& this clown caused.
There are a few of us Carlton supporters who don't need the power of hindsight to see through rose coloured glasses.
No doubt you defened Fisher at the time. Good work for having such foresight.
It's not called foresight..its called footballing intelligence.
Or for the uninitiated - common sense.
This will be a stupid analgy but I will state it anyway.
There is a car park on the side of the road.. a parallel park. The car in front wants to reverse back into the park and the car behind can see this. A sensible and responsible driver would accept that he can see what is happening in front of him and in order avoid a collision, would give enough room to the front car to safely reverse back without a crash.
A selfish, petulant, arrogant and obnoxious arsehole of a driver would say...@#$%&! him.. its mine... and try to drive into the parking space, where there is no space because the other car is already half way in - and would cause a collision.
The car in front is focussed on one thing.. getting into the park behind him.
The driver behind can see everything going on around him and can evaluate the situation and should do the responsible thing to avoid any problems. In these cases (Fisher x2, Lance and Carlos) - Fevola obviously didn't because he was 'the man' and everything in the past 8 years has been all about him to the detriment of the whole damn club.
Fevola obviously can't parallel park!
@#$%&! OFF FEVOLA!! It took 12 years but my prayers were finally @#$%&! answered during Trade Week.
Even if Pagan gave him full licence to launch 29, it doesn't mean that he didn't have a responsibility to respect his team-mates and his club by staying the hell out of places he shouldn't have been. The bloke had no footballing nouse and was a selfish, petulant brat! If every thing was not about him, he had a flower sook, and we as a club paid the price for it for many, many years.
I blame John Elliott as indicated.. for sacking Brittain before he had the chance to sack Fevola. Make no mistake..... we struggled for so many years BECAUSE of Fevola.. not in spite of him. He was a drain on our list, on our game plan, on the development of our younger blokes and now that he has moved on, we can finally begin to build towards a bright future. It was never going to happen under the guise of the Brendan Fevola Football Club.
