Watched the Bullants on the weekend and he was outstanding 44 pos and 3 goals. Easily BOG for mine. Hard and skillful.

Then he got himself ejected from Eve night club on Saturday night, very drunk and/or very disorderly....

Disappointing.

how old is he?? i see your frustration JAYDEE but in all seriousness, we've all been there at 19-20, had too many and been ejected from a venue. haven't we?
I dont have too much of a problem with boys being boys, but i am concerned with the regularity that this fella is linked with a story similar to this.

if true the club need to come down extremely hard on him. Let's not make the same mistakes we have made with other "boys being boys"

Don't think I have been ejected from a venue actually & if I was a footballer trying to break back into the seniors going out till all hours would be the last thing on my to do list.

you've never had a few too many in your younger days??
So if the kid were a cemented senior player it would be ok with you?

i just think in the light of the whole Fevola saga and then all the issues we have had in pre-season, no Carlton footballer should be behaving like this in public, no matter what his age is. I really like Mitch Robinson as a player and the reason for my post is that I hope the club addresses this before it becomes too serious and/or he does something really stupid that gets into the broader media and costs him his career at the club.

He does have a history with the drink and being a bit of a hypo yappa.

He should be selected for the seniors tomorrow morning then be told he has been demoted to emergency in view of the recent report received of him being evicted from a drinking hole. Then select him to play at the 4pm cut off on Saturday.

44 possessions is 11 per quarter. It sounds like he found some form against a weak VFL opponent. Can he do that for 60 minutes in the seniors?

why can't these boys go out, have a good time, even have a few drinks but without getting so hammered that they get into awkward or worse situations or get kicked out of pubs?
these are supposed to be elite athletes for gods sake - how many Olympic medallists would have been out on serious piss a week before they were competing? its not like the rest of us when we were younger.
i don't care if they have a few drinks. i care that they don't care.

there's no reason for them to be out at all hours (with possible exception being after night match but even then they could unwind in a quieter environment if needed. there's no reason to get hammered during the footy season. a few drinks, no worries. even a bit tipsy and not able to drive, occasionally. but hammered?? what for?

i reckon winning a premiership will feel better.
"no-one ever said it would be easy. they just promised that it would be worth it." (I think was one of Libby Trickett's favourite quotes...)

No. Give him another week in the VFL.

Weak excuse diesel_85, I agree with kingkerna, I've had plenty of fun going out drinking for many years in bars all over the world, but I've never been thrown out of a bar. He's just mentally weak right now. I'm not saying we should get rid of him straight away, some people do learn from their mistakes and he needs to be given that chance, but as with Fevola if he can't take control of his personal life and responsibility for his actions then he has no future at Carlton, and Brisbane can have him too.

It also makes no difference whether he is a cemented senior player or a first year rookie, it's not ok.

Robbo played a blinder against Frankston a team that in the weeks prior were defeated by Geelong 91 points, scraped a win by 4 points against the Coburg Tigers (Richmond's affiliate - say no more) and beaten by Sandringham by 49 points. So he should have if he's remotely serious about breaking back into the seniors. Although BOG against a team that's struggling is hardly worthy of a celebratory blinder at Eve. Needs to get serious on and off the field if he wants to play senior footy. He's meant to be a professional athlete not a professional piss pot.

Sorry guys, but i'm with diesel on this one. You would be surprised how easy it is to be kicked out of a venue these days. I've been working part time at a venue for two years in south yarra while doing my degree and patrons can be removed for something as basic as dropping a glass (they don't even have to be intoxicated). What's more it doesn't help in this new weak culture where going out at night is deemed to be irresponsible if you are an athlete. Mitch is about 20 years old and wants to have some fun while he can. Its not like Michael Hurley assaulting a cab driver.

And by the way, don't be silly and compare AFL players (especially younger ones) to olympic athletes 17th prem. It is a ridiculous comparison.

Robbo could be anything...he definitely has talent and passion....but requires discipline and a run in the twos getting high possessions consistently b4 he is brought back into the senior side IMO...
