Need to get some toughness back out there.

Isn't that 4 outs and 6 ins? Even we should get stronger if we do that.

Haha yeah i was hoping we could sneak that past the AFL.

I reckon the MC can find the other 2 to drop. A couple whose minds are not on the job.

I posted elsewhere, a talkback caller last night claimed he has a broken thumb, and I recall a poster on here saying the same thing a few weeks back. If true, he shouldn't be playing, but we're notorious for playing injured kids IMO.

The only strapping he's had near his hands at training is a bit of tape on the wrist, presumably to fix a misaligned tendon.

There's no way he has a broken finger ala last year, and you can play through those with some panadol and an AFL-approved guard. Broken finger is one of the older medical minsomers, as it usually refers to a bad dislocation.

Some of these outs are ridiculous. White is the only key defender in the wings who is fit and ready. Grigg is in the midst of suspension and will not come straight in, so if McLean is out, it's going to be Hadley. Scotland doesn't deserve the axe, and you lot are trying to go even taller with our squad, which is suicide.

Revising my recommendations from last night:

Out: Warnock, Robinson, Houlihan
In: Jacobs, Garlett, Judd

Waite to defence, Setanta & Henderson to alternate operating from the square up to about 35 m out from goal. Any kick that lands at true CHF without picking out a genuine target should be marked very hard by the coaching staff. Houlihan gets a spell because he was the worst in the team when it came to spreading from the contest, and was woeful in the contested ball stakes where he got a greater role along with Carrazzo & Murphy after McLean copped his knock.

The fumbles were a group wide issue, and one the club will have to address with some very angry words, otherwise you'd drop most of the 22. The skill issues mostly flowed on from that (or youth, in the case of Henderson), and over-eagerness transitioning into attack left us exposed defensively, rather than soft running or a lack of chasing/tackling (although it was really disappointing to see us abandoning our defensive positioning in midfield because we got sucked in). The tackle counts were decent enough, so it comes back to Houlihan and having a dip for the ball, which is really disappointing because it's been a highlight of his last 7 or 8 months of football.

EDIT: Fixed typo

No lets watch the first 10 minutes -know we will dominate and kick 3 or 4 points and then head off into the sunshine as we will have done our best work

Tune in to press conference with coach to outline how we won the contest in the bubble but couldnt hit a target outside the bubble and never PUT SCOREBOARD PRESSURE ON THE OPPOSITION -PATHETIC EFFORT LAST NIGHT STILL NOT HAPPY

We'll win. Don't worry about that.

It's just going to make last nights efforts more embarrassing...but we'll win.

Another team we just cant seem to beat.
There has to be changes after last nights dismal display.
The pressure is off this week as noone expects us to win.
Out;
McLean (inj)
Warnock
Armfield

In;
Judd (thank goodness)
Hadley
Jacobs

I just hope the players show some ticker this week.

Out: Warnock, McClean (inj), Robinson, Walker

In: Jacobs, Hadley, Garlett, Judd

Jacobs for Warnock: Jacobs was great yesterday for the Ants.... Warnock has been not so great
Hadley for McClean: McClean injured
Garlett for Robinson: I love his attack on the ball, but Robinson just looks so slow... and Garlett has been kicking bags of 3&4 each week in the Ants.
Judd for Walker: Speaks for itself. Walkers kicking is terrible.

If we had players to come in I'd think about dropping Carrazzo also. His kicking was terrible last night. No where near AFL standard.

If Ratten does make an example of some players this week he is more gutless than I thought.

For me:

B: Yarran Bower Jamison
HB: Scotland Walker Russell Gibbs

C: Lucas Hadley Waite
R: Kruezer Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Thornton Simpson
FF: Henderson Betts

IC: Jacobs Armfield Joseph Carrazzo

In: Jacobs Hadley Bower Garlett Judd
Out: McLean Warnock Houlihan Setanta Robinson

Personally I believe we are nowhere near finals and should play O'Keefe, Austin, Hampson, Jacobs, Garlett, White, Davies, Cachia Browne and Anderson plus the kids already in the side as much as possible! :thanks:

apparently by the sounds of it dangerfield very serious injury, had to be stretchered off...

whoever they bring in will probably smash us up anyway...

Not sold on the idea of Setanta out of the side, brings energy to the forward line along with Betts (and hopefully Garlett). Having said that, Bower won't be back; spotted him at the game with a mild limp.

Adelaide are very beatable, especially on this week's and last week's form.

Not happy to be playing them at AAMI when they're 0-3, though.

Both teams will be having a red hot crack.

Looks like no Dangerfield, Bock, Tippet and Hendschell.

That means a bunch of unknowns !!! Not good news for Carlton.

The dees are entertaining to watch at the moment. They're not afraid to take the opposition on and have players who think about what they're doing. They're young so they'll have their ups and downs but they have smart young players.

Adelaide are a bit of a basket case like us at the moment. They'll have to make a few changes so the new guys will come fired up and the pressure from the home crowd and media will have them fired up.

SHOULD be a lively encounter with plenty of feeling, but who knows what frame of mind we'll be in??
