Pros

Brock the rock of our midfield
Yarran who's not rich he is diamond encrusted
No fuck-wit no Judd no worries
Waite and Murphy didn't play like they were underdone
Eddie Betts! Superstar. Love him.
Kruezer. Freak.
Robbie! Didn't look out of his depth.

Cons

Jamison - can't we fix his shoulders somehow?!?
Umpiring - shithouse. Although on a positive note it is much easier to bag them when opsm is their sponsor.

Pro: After last night I saw enough signs that we can win next week at the gabba in which I will be there.

Yarran = silky as
Houlihan = play this guy forward of the centre and he can do some damage. Great skills.
Bower = solid as a rock
Brock has great composure when he has the ball.

We will only get better with Judd to come back in a couple of weeks and more game time into Smurph, 206, Walker and Waitey.

In relation to Jammo's shoulder, I think it happened in the first or second quarter on the boundary when he smoothered a kick at full stretch and you could see the impact. FIngers crossed he will be right but he did finish the game on the ground.

On Channel 10's coverage, Ratts said he would be right and they took him off as a precautionary thing.

PROS :
The forwards .
Kreuser , best ruckman on the ground . I've got a feeling we will be saying that a lot this year .
Kick-ins . At last we seem to have a plan that worked most of the game .
McLean . Showed he will be valuable .
Yarran . May well be as good as Rich soon .
We won by 9 goals .
Still have Judd , Armfield and Hadley to come in .

CONS :

Walker . Looked slow and disinterested . Is he still carrying an injury ?
Anderson . Not up to AFL as yet .
Warnock . Needs to understand that getting your hand on the ball first is not the only thing that makes a ruckman . It actually has to go to a Carlton player , not the opposition .
Maybe he's just a bit rusty , having missed so much football .

Pros

Apart from coughing up the free before half time I didn't think Ando was as bad as some of you guys (& I'm not normally the biggest fan)

Scotland some good evasion & clearances, although he & the whole team won't have opposition as easy as that for the remainder of the year

Yarran. Looks like he's enjoying his footy. Just a classy mover, have needed a forward like him at carlton for years

Waite & Murphy looked fine. Murphy looked dangerous whenever he had the ball.

Cons

Seemed to slack off for short periods in the first half, won't be able to get away with that next week

Gave away a lot of frees. I know the umpiring was frustrating, but still.

KB, listening to him now saying Richmond let us off the hook :?

My pros have all been mentioned.

One con that hasn't;

With our skill level, we'll get hammered by a team like St Kilda that actually applies pressure. There was a sequence in the first quarter where we won a free kick from a stopapge about 75 metres out from goal. And without one Richmond player touching the ball we managed to run it out of bounds 50 metres out from Richmond's goal on the opposite side of the field.

That's just diabolical. We do not have the backmen with the required foot skills to carry that sort of stuff off. Regardless - how you end up up in that sort of situation from 75 metres out is just crazy stuff.

It was just a small thing, but when i saw that I was thinking - thank god this is richmond because we'd get smashed to pieces by a real team if that's what we're about.

Pros

Consistent effort across the board from all players. Compare to last year with Fev, Stevens and Cloke choosing when they wanted to make an effort or not. 100% effort all the time.
Carazzo BOG
Betts
Krueze
Bower
Houlihan
Yarran

I reckon Waite can play fwd most times this year as our defence is underated

Cons
Walker - disposal is not up to afl standard
General field kicking
Should have won by 80

You could see what they were trying to do there. Draw out their zone to spread their defense and create some space but 3 passes missed their targets. Practice makes perfect.

Some of short dinky passes were a Con last night. Bower was our main offender. He will have to work on that as i am sure he knows. Gun player otherwise. OUr skills started well last night and as players tired (for both teams) they got pretty bad.
I reckon we kick the yellow ball better than the red.

Yarran was a great Pro for me. He wouldnt break the rice paper. In 3 years time he will be unstoppable. If we can get the ball in his hands 20 -25 times a game we will be half way there.
Walker did lots of hard running that created space for others. His running is his strength so its good to see him using it. His kicking was off a bit last night. Sometimes he is running at full pass and trying to execute when he has more time to slow up and steady. Awareness could be his issue. More talk from others could help?

Scrappy game in the end but we did what we had to do. Hopefully we can build and rack up a few wins this first half of the season.

Pro - Chris Yarran's first game last year made me sick in my guts.

Here was a kid a long way from home and with his first or second kick in AFL footy, he gets a spray and a dirty look from a so-called leader of the club.

One year later and that same kid looks like he's loving his footy playing with blokes who respect him and the jumper they play for.

The so-called leader disgusted me with that effort

Waite gave him daggers when he didn't kick to his lead. Yarran was right in waiting and passing to Betts instead.

Pros
Well covered already by everybody.

Cons
I can't believe nobody has mentioned that one of our best will be gone at the tribunal! I rarely visit and even more rarely post so am I missing an unwritten code for us not to highlight questionable moments?

It's been mentioned a couple of times.
I don't think Waite should be suspended for it, a reprimand would even be over the top IMO.

It's been mentioned a few times Mitch, maybe the others were like me and didn't see anything to report on.

Pro:

We won.

Con:

the night was a stinker, and the boys will be feeling it this morning.

Oh ok, I’ll get back in my box now. But clenched fist + direct contact to the face = gone imo. But hey I was wrong about it not being raised as a con previously so hopefully im wrong again!
