His game was one hell of a Barry Crocker, but the upside is he can't get any worse.

Yeah, I don't expect him to put in a performance like that again.

Hopefully this game was a kick in the bum he needed before the season starts.

So applying Synbad's logic, Brock didn't have a howler. Rather, the player whose main role is to get the ball from under packs and stoppages struggled with our gameplan and 'structure'. LMAO.

This thread is for bagging out Brock McLean, based on a single NAB Cup game.

Dear Synbad

When I first started checking this site consistently a few years ago, your posts were some of the ones I looked forward to reading (not to mention gravitating to your easily recognisable avatar)

The posts usually sounded like you had some good mail and sounded like they were coming from a bloke who had some understanding on the game.........NOW.........I shudder when I see one of your posts. You are on a bandwagon now, you are a one trick pony who rabbits on about the one issue only!

Like the dog with the bone, you probably won't give it up by the sounds of your posts. But look, you may be right? Ratten and sticks might get sacked/leave in 2 years if it doesn't work out. It could happen because its a tough game AFL.

So all I can suggest is maybe have a breadth of opinions on many topics to do with Carlton..... and then post about other things inbetween your Ratts/sticks rants. Then we all might come to respect your footballing understanding again and not cringe when reading all your future posts.

Cheers
Dennis Denuto

Dear Dennis,
Years ago i was a younger man.I was very positive about the footy club.
I believed we were going to turn it around.
I believed in the Carlton George Harris forged with all of his wisdom and all of his cunnning and his ruthlesness in turning a club around and creating the greatest sporting club this country had seen
Im an old man now, the club is treading water. We dont have a vision or the gut instinct to recreate greatness again. Instead were hoping things might turn around. There is no cutting edge about the way the club conducts itself. Its not ruthless with mediocrity and the football landscape has changed.
With every season that slips by its more apparent this club is no longer a leader but instead complacently snuggles into the bosom of its past fingers and toes crossed for miracles as it sucks from the now dried teats of the legacy George Harris and Ronald Barrassi.
Where medicrity now reigns supreme.
This saddens me.

Sincerely Synbad

Thanks for clearing this up once and for all Synners,

You are a depressed realist from the 60's/70's without anything that resembles hope and enjoyment for the years ahead.

Why don't you just give up now and do us a favour?

On finishing I'd just like to add that your theories and pedagogy arent based on reality but are just opinion that few of us believe or put any credence to.

Yes Synners does go on and on...but shades of grey never got anyone anywhere....IMO off field we made no significant improvements over the summer and to be honest that is where we really need to improve...the list is there even minus Fev....but no way is our off field list anywhere near good enough for the job ahead.

Nothing to see here off field.

PS. What is the difference between our on field list and our off field list? Aren't they the same list of people?

I'd call this the worst TC thread ever... but it has some pretty stiff competition at the moment

Yeah, any thread that gets hijacked by synners generally ends up this way.

Although I do find it a bit funny that a one trick pony without a clue is bagging our coach for being a one trick pony without a clue. I don't know which one is right, but one has fallen way off the pack 'snip' and the other has brought us from wooden spoon to finals

We need that 'broken record' emoticon, and we need it fast.

I'm hoping that Brock might just be finding it difficult to find his feet in the bigger pond that is the Carlton midfield

hey cazzesman, a question for you.

How do you feel about our 'off field' people when it was known that they were willing to settle for Bradshaw and Rischetelli for Fevola? Do you still have the same strong confidence in their decision making as you did before?

I just sacked him from my Supercoach. Hope he is not too hurt by this but based on performance I could not fit him in.

Ratts is very comfortable with his team of assistant coaches... not sure I am though..

It's natural for the skills to possibly be a little rusty this time of year but they were diabolical on Saturday night. :?

They're bagging Ratten and Carlton, so I think they're on topic.

A Carlton supporter who isn't a die hard just asked me if I would still follow Carlton after Saturday's game.

Some supporters can't see the forest for the trees...
