Dear Synbad
When I first started checking this site consistently a few years ago, your posts were some of the ones I looked forward to reading (not to mention gravitating to your easily recognisable avatar)
The posts usually sounded like you had some good mail and sounded like they were coming from a bloke who had some understanding on the game.........NOW.........I shudder when I see one of your posts. You are on a bandwagon now, you are a one trick pony who rabbits on about the one issue only!
Like the dog with the bone, you probably won't give it up by the sounds of your posts. But look, you may be right? Ratten and sticks might get sacked/leave in 2 years if it doesn't work out. It could happen because its a tough game AFL.
So all I can suggest is maybe have a breadth of opinions on many topics to do with Carlton..... and then post about other things inbetween your Ratts/sticks rants. Then we all might come to respect your footballing understanding again and not cringe when reading all your future posts.
Cheers

Dear Dennis,
Years ago i was a younger man.I was very positive about the footy club.
I believed we were going to turn it around.
I believed in the Carlton George Harris forged with all of his wisdom and all of his cunnning and his ruthlesness in turning a club around and creating the greatest sporting club this country had seen
Im an old man now, the club is treading water. We dont have a vision or the gut instinct to recreate greatness again. Instead were hoping things might turn around. There is no cutting edge about the way the club conducts itself. Its not ruthless with mediocrity and the football landscape has changed.
With every season that slips by its more apparent this club is no longer a leader but instead complacently snuggles into the bosom of its past fingers and toes crossed for miracles as it sucks from the now dried teats of the legacy George Harris and Ronald Barrassi.
Where medicrity now reigns supreme.
This saddens me.
Sincerely Synbad
You are a depressed realist from the 60's/70's without anything that resembles hope and enjoyment for the years ahead.
On finishing I'd just like to add that your theories and pedagogy arent based on reality but are just opinion that few of us believe or put any credence to.
