Clearly horrible for him but if no hiccups during recovery, players are generally back within 9 months these days so should be ok for round 1 next year

You just lifted my spirits.

I can see that after watching Motlop kicking for goal and running in the last month, and O'Farrell looks ready to go too.

Harry did his ACL in round 21 last year (August) and Motlop did his ACL in January this year.

Not mentioned in the injury report released less than an hour ago

Callum Twomey
@CalTwomey
Carlton defender Nic Newman has had finger surgery today.

He's still hopeful to play on Sunday night against Essendon* but a decision will be made later in the week. The Blues have the bye the following week which will be weighed up in the call. @AFLcomau

Was it just me or did he look really groggy after his fall the other night? He made some pretty poor turnovers afterward too.

A forced week off for Newman may not be the end of the world.

From the age

Quote:
Weitering, whose last game was four weeks ago against Geelong, will not be back for at least another three weeks after straining his calf again at training on Thursday.

O'Farrell officially out for the season.

"Has progressed well through his rehab to have now rejoined skills training with the playing group. Will focus on completing the final stages of his recovery for the remainder of the year, putting himself in a strong position heading into pre-season"

This one is interesting. Have we pulled the plug on the year or has he had a setback? Guess we'll know soon.
