Sorry to be so negative

After the flat Essendon* game we picked up. After last week's flat game against Richmond we have unfortunately carried over that form. Let's hope it is the "due for a loss" factor.

We're being beaten by a far better team. Simple as that.

I said early this week Hawks would burn us by 70 points on account of them being pantsed by Dees last week and our very average game against Tigers. I hoped the rain would even things out but it looks like 70 points is still a possibility. our percentage will be sunk for any hope of scraping into wildcard finals on percentage.

Regarding rucking in the centre circle, I take it that the ruck is allowed to jump over the centreline and land on the other side without actually touching the ball? And then contest the ball?

Does the rule state that you just can’t step over the line before you jump?

You’re not allowed to step over the line in any circumstances

And Pitto and Harry seem to need to relearn this rule every game as they get pinged for it.

Our groundball representation has been our biggest disappointment tonight. How often have the Hawks had time to fumble and still get the kick away or run away with the ball. Or mark the ball without any pressure. Too often we're spectating instead of applying inside pressure.

We needed Hewett Acres Weiters and Williams tonight.
Derkson has given up 3 goals Ison one and Holland's 2 from turnovers.
Kemp is next to useless.

I thought the rain would help too but we're playing like people who've never been wet.

Meek is killing us.

For how many years have I been saying we need to trade in an elite ruck? it's still one of the most important positions on the ground, no mater what anyone says about the modern game making it irrelevant or "manageable" with a weak ruck.

Riley is being bullied and schooled by Meeks. Harry is having much more effect in the ruck. Harry is invisibly as a forward. When Cripps takes the ruck we are a mid short because Harry then just stands and watches and has no idea what to do. Useless play.

on ground leaders should be able to work that out. Cripps needs to listen to Harry if he's standing there ready to ruck.
