I'd go Dean for Young, Acres for Hollands or Cottrell and Moir for Ison.

Hollands probably deserves a second chance coming back. Cottrell though can kick goals and we will need every one.

I'm leaning this way this morning. Cottrell or Hollands? Drop Cotters. Hollands provides run and more pressure on the contest.
Williams doesn't look 100% fit to me.

Hawks midfield is overated . Newcombe is a genuine toughnut . Hardwick also and that's it . Go the bash I say and they will turn it up .

I'm not sure if overrated is the right word, but for a team with dominant rucks they aren't dominant.
I think they link up well by handball rather than rushing kicks forward that gives them time, space and perceptive speed.

Connor MacDonald and Ward go allright too and dangerous around goal, but yeah, that Hardwick has x factor. I expect him to be swung forward and Newman to do the job.

I think I prefer Acres to Hollands. They can both run but Acres is stronger physically and I think we missed that. I'll put up with a couple of Acres moon balls OOBOOF.

Next question is Moir vs Ison. Perhaps Moir is worth a shot, but neither are game changers.

The build up to this game this week is going to be.......exciting. I've got to make myself busy during the week. A few long lunches on the cards. A few catch ups in town. A bit of gardening.....I've never submitted my BAS or Income tax on time.....I don't bite fingernails. ...Might go for a drive and buy a bunch of pullets as cover for the potential bird flu season.

I am so excited for the next 2 games. Huge.

Imagine if we beat the Hawks. The build up to the next game against Collingwood would be out of this world.

Josh Fraser having guided Carlton to 8 wins on the trot against his old club in Collingwood. Both clubs vying for a finals spot and bragging rights.

Just to watch Collingwood win in a close encounter due to some individual brilliance from Naicos.

Watson is their key. Need a hard tag and whoever it is must stay with him off the packs and not get drawn into the contest.
Very much like Naicos. They both play 3 meters outside the packs. I’d consider Cowan.

That's if Watson actually plays. He, Amon & Impey are tests.

In: Dean, Acres
Out: Young, Ison

Cotters to HF. Give him a defensive role.

This is not the game to try Moir again, can't risk him going missing for three quarters. Make him beat down the door until at least the GC game.

Cotters won't disappoint two weeks in a row, and if given a specific role to do, you know he will execute it.

I'm taking a dad & son to their first ever AFL game. From Singapore, migrated here years ago & chose Carlton through Fev & Juddy - but have never been to a match. What a choice for a first game

I've already loaded up the lad with merch bondi. You'd be proud of me

Injured List Hawks

Nick Watson Hamstring 1 week ... tells us he's back this week

Not on injured list but left out vs melb due to injury

Ned Reeves
Karl Amon

The likely missing AFL players: Good for us.

Josh Battle Appendix
Jarman Impey Hamstring
Josh Weddle Suspension
Conor Nash Neck
Jack Scrimshaw Knee

Finn Maginness Back Test....most likely returns through VFL

and VFL players...

Max Beattie Ankle
James Blanck Hamstring

Watson is likely to return to AFL team this week.
Nothing less than a knee to his sciatic nerve in his arse should fix him
Bad as it is its an old tactic I was taught from Hawks U19 days: dirty flithy Kennedy's commandoes

Ned Reeves the 210cm ruck not on injured list but left out due to injury

Chol and Mraz gave Meeks the chop out this week.

Really weird Ned Reeves the 210cm ruck didn't play in either AFL or VFL teams.

Maybe he went with side to Tassie as an Emergency??? He wasn't in the first picked.
Chol and Mraz gave Meeks the chop out this week.

Reeves is injured

Thanks SB
Just checked the named teams to see reeves Amon and Battle all outs due to injury and not listed as such on Injury lists.
I know Battle turned out to be appendix op, and Reeves and Amon muct have been touch and go.

We will find out tomorrow arvo

I'm not suggesting we throw Ison in the bin. :p

There's no shame in having a spell in the magoos. Look what it's done for young Billy. Acres too.

Market down here is asking for near enough $50 a chook. If you can find them.

Old mate up the road is giving bantams away. cauliflower of things they are. Birds, not chooks. Eggs are alright, if you don’t mind climbing trees or getting up on the roof.

He's kicked a few goals since coming back, that time up forward in the VFL must've worked!
