What a waste of energy and momentum when we consistently miss SET shots at goal 30-40 out. Thats on the players … and list manager.

Voss will be gone, but we need to improve our forward craft. Fix the fkn goal kicking routine for all forwards. It’s amateur hour when we sit in hope they kick straight. FMD it’s so obvious, year after year….fix it Harry. You’re on the list for another 4 years, and highly likely as our No 1 KPF, unless we can attract Geogiades or the like.

I get really irritated by Jeremy Cameron and his stupid little ball compression ceremony when he's got a set shot. Elicits a similar reaction to Rafa Nadal's arse pick-n-sniff. I should perhaps see a psychologist about this. But that aside, at least these blokes have a routine and deliver consistently. I noticed last night, H is all over the shop. Sometimes he spends 30 seconds debating whether to go around the body or go the drop punt. Sometimes he places the ball on the ground and wipes his hands, Sometimes he spins it around. Sometimes - and a lot of our guys do this - he just gazes off at the shot clock and then suddenly goes oh crap, I've got to kick it now. Everyone in our squad should be put on notice: choose a routine and replicate it EXACTLY on your next five set shots, otherwise you're delisted, cauliflower.

It's only his 10th game or whatever - but I said to the boss last night as Matt Carroll was coming in for his set shot that this is a guaranteed miss because he's chucking the ball around in his hands, no routine, nothing. It is the easiest thing to fix.

Spinning the ball in hand willy nilly during a set shot does my @#$%&! head in.

Hey, I only ever captained an U16 side 35 years ago, so what would I know, but… old man rant incoming…

How players can make it to senior level without passable skills on both sides of the body and a set shot goal kicking routine is beyond me.

part of the S & C role is player availability and injury management. and we have the best injury list we've had since ratten and bradley were playing. so that's a big departure in a really positive direction from the last decade ...

i think we are physically fit, but not emotionally and mentally fit. i know i harp on about this a bit. But i see elite endurance athletes at boxing. putting up obscene numbers on the beep test, and 400m, 1500m and 5km trials etc etc

... and they get into the ring and are gasses and cramping up after 2 rounds. maybe even hurling in between rounds 1 & 2.

i also see guys who can't run to the end of the street, yet can spar 10 rounds no problem. mental exhaustion, anxiety and of course fear wear you out much quicker than what one can aerobically exhaust (hope i'm making sense here).

if you can't stay composed, you can't stay in the fight.

i see us tighten up, i see guys out there not breathing. no leadership whatsoever is in their ear calming the farm, (not on the field or off it) and while the stress exponentiates, so does the fatigue & cramping.

Actually you make perfect sense. It's happened to me - I've done a few Hyrox events because I'm a millenial and that's our Olympics. While you know you've done the training and you're physically fit enough, you can start to panic if things don't go as planned and then boom, your HR is through the roof, your brain scrambles and you're suddenly in all sorts.

that's it in a nutshell miss. way better than i could explain things, and you did it in two sentences.

this is what's currently happening at carlton.

Never a million years was Byrne going to kick that, no slight on the kid but we just can't have nice things

The game "result" should never have been on his shoulders. Even though, If we are honest - had he kicked it, to get away with a draw would have been a theft. 1 goal 5 from our ONLY KPF McKay who has kicked the grand sum of 6 goals for the WHOLE season. Yes he presented well etc, but he simply has to convert. Numerous other easy shots were missed by others and we really should have had this as game totally over well before 3qtr time.

That aside - once, again Voss falls asleep at the wheel and allows Daicos to win this game for them, in a five minute or so spell of absolute brilliance in the 4th quarter.

Thats ground hog day again - allowing 5 to 10 minute periods of nothing - no changes to structure, matchups, anything, and guess what - thats what kills you and it has us.

Grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory and its happened 5 times this season. Our only "win" was pure #$%^

As much as I have tried to support Voss, and point the issues more at our list, list management and poor recruitment decisions past, he has to go and it has to happen well before the end of this season

Haynes also had his jumper blatantly held in the first minute of the last quarter in the goal square. Just saying.

Thought it was a blatant arm grab, either way the Ch7 nufties weren't willing to discuss anything that might take the gloss off The GOAT nailing a shot from 8cm out on his big day. Did you know it was his 100th game?!!?

I must admit I didn't notice anything going on with him during the game, just that he had little impact.
The vision I have seen is really hard to watch, what a sad situation.
Is it true he went to the Collingwood huddle?
It seems really strange that no one noticed anything wrong with him earlier, especially his brother.
I have doubts we will see him playing at AFL level again, hope I am wrong.

For those watching at home, were you subjected to Daddy Daicos doing his nana in the box? or did he go full SOS and wait in the car?

Peter Daicos is a good one.
There for his boys. Cheering on. Having a laugh. Being human.
Daicos boys just don’t come across as …. Entitled.
Neither does Peter: Macedonian Marvel.

Yep , a good family and certainly not big heads . All humble and plenty of time for other people . Credit to Peter and his wife .
People bagging them is the tall poppy syndrome in overdrive .

I’ve known the Daicos’s for a while. Can’t agree and I’ll leave it at that.
If you watched his hand reaction to us a few years back, it will show you the true story of him and his kids.
Sorry to spoil the love.

Havent spoiled my love Suzz . Your interactions with the family must be different to mine .
