I thought he too was terrific today.
At times his disposal was off...

But why point the finger at him... he tried his guts out and it wasnt like others were working hard for him now was it???

Half the time noone moved to him... it just doesnt make it easy.

Walks played another good game tonight. He has taken a step up this year. Sure he had a few clangers, but I think that there were another 43 players tonight that had the same disease. It must have been the dew.

Realistically there's only about a dozen guys in the league who can get the ball 25 times in a game and not turn it over 2 or 3 time by foot. And if you're watching on telly you often don't see how poor the options are when guys turn it over.

25 Possessions, 8 marks and a huge goal against the run of play when we were really struggling in the 2nd quarter. I know stats don't mean what they used to now that we're a high possession side, but Walks was not the problem out there tonight.

our best IMO. Don't know what the criticism is for.

When he was kicking, 90% of the time our midfield and HF line wasn't presenting at all. Lazy buggers.

He contests and has improved heaps this year. one of our few accountable players at the moment.

He is one of our few shining lights, and has come on in leaps and bounds.

Hi pace, commitment etc are great.

A few ordinary kicks which still get in th egeneral direction I will live with.

He is in my Herald Sun Super Coach team and doing well, much better than Wells and Brent Harvey who I also picked.

I'm not knocking his game. Agree he has really stepped up this season and was good last night, but his disposal is terrible, and you can tell looking at the technique.

can't understand how you can be a #2 draft pick and be at a supposed professional football club for 3 years already and still kick like that.

We have said it on this site from day 1 almost, but nothing seems to have been done to improve his disposal.
Poise, decision making under pressure, reading the play, balance etc. etc. are mostly natural instincts/talents and inborn, but kicking is something this guy can be taught to do.

Marc Murphy on the other hand. beautiful. His ability to find Fevola, Fevola and Waite by foot last night was very impressive at times.

yeah but murphy was finding it a half forward and he just had to look for fev.
Walker in the backline comes running through and there is absolutely nothing presenting .

Absolutely rapt with Walker's game. One of the few positives to come out of the game. He's never going to be the best kick at the club but at least the kid's getting it now. If only a few of the senior players worked as hard as he does.

We sometimes forget he was only 17 when he started with us, almost a full year behind those in the same draft class.

3rd season .... thankyou!!
2 and a bit years, and coming along very nicely!!

There must be a serious problem with my eyes, I thought I saw the majority of players missing targets last night ..... why single out young Andrew??

We're all busy hanging Denis at the moment .... come join the mob!! No need to turn young Andrew's fantastic effort last night into a negative!!

Can't believe this was a negative thread. Walker has been one of our consistent shining lights in 2006. Think how good the likes of he and Murphy will be given that they are already leading the way in many respects as far as actually playing the game goes.

You think Murphy's kicking was fantastic? Well, his goal was a deadset Kernahan helicopter!!!!

Yes they were good, but then some of Murphy's kicks were shockers as well. If you want to single out Walker for bad kicking, then you might as well target the lot of them. Lappin, Stevens, Simpson, Houlihan at times, Murphy, Waite, Fisher, the LOT of them.

Being in Sydney makes no difference - we didn't hit targets all around the ground.

So stop getting on your bloody high horse and looking down on other people. You and SurreyBlue are the same.

Only 737 more to go and he'll be an all time great! 8)

That was a brilliant kick from Murphy on the run from out wide so how can anyone fault that kick? :?

Yes it was brilliant, but it certainly wasn't a classic drop punt. What gets me is that you have people who want to criticise Walker's kicking when it was no worse than anyone elses', in fact, probably better than most, yet they want to think that Murphy's kicks were all fantastic.
