I'd actually put Ty on Lance. If they're going to use him as a KPP, a player like Lance is perfect for him. Not overly tall and with a not-huge leap.
I can't believe that quote from the bumblingblitz. Nobody in the right mind would put Zantuck on Whitnall. With the form Whitnall has been in if he didn't kick 5 before half time he'd have setup that many. Ty Zantuck is in the same mould as a Damien Hardwick which is to say he isn't tall enough or big enough to stop Whitnall marking or shielding him from the ball. I agree Zantuck is aggressive and will try to test Whitnall physically but Whitnall is just way too smart for Zantuck. I think after the 3rd free kick to Whitnall inside 50 the Zantuck experiment would soon end.
I think if their serious about combating Whitnall put a good marking player with a bit of pace to play in front of Whitnall and try to beat him to the ball which even with Lances improved fitness I think Lance would struggle. From what I can see Essendon* don't have anyone capable of this right now so I expect they'll try to push Kepler Bradley back into the hole to stop the marking contests. This of course only covers Whitnall and not Fevola, Waite, Walker, Davies and perhaps Betts. If this situation was to arise I'd play Betts because I reckon Lance would setup heaps for him and Essendon* would have no answer - very similar to the Wizard cup game I think.
Good marking defender on Essendon*'s list?
hmmmmm lets see...... that would be.......... um........ Bolton? Henneman?
Lets face it, Zantuck is about as good an option for them as anyone else. And, he could potentially hurt us going the other way. Not that he WOULD, but he potentially could.
