Hey guys, once again Carlton will get shafted for FTA coverage on a long weekend round.

there will be no FTA coverage of the only saturday afternoon game in round one, which once again is us.

Fortunatley our friend Fox Footy will be showing the game live.

I figured this would be the perfect chance for a few of us ACT ers to catch up and what the blues kick off season 2005.

I will be watching the game and having a few drinks at east lakes footy club in kingston.

Fox Footy
2.00pm Live: Rnd 1 Kangaroos v Carlton
There have been some amazing contests between these 2 sides in recent years, and this promises to be no exception. Both fancy themselves as Top 8 contenders, and it's games like this one that will ultimately determine their fates in 2005.

it would be great catch up with some fellow blues supporters!
i'm going to try to attend east lakes for every fox game that i'm in canberra for this year as see if we can get a bit of a canberra supporters group watching games each week.

So who's with me!

PS: mods sorry for not starting this in the socials board, but i wanted ti to get a bit of exposure. feel free to move it however. cheers

Definintely will be interested in catching up for other games though :D

Hey, this is a catch-22 ... do I stay home at get my Foxtel money's worth, or go out? Gez, if the numbers are looking pretty lean (ie. there's not room for 10s of people, but small numbers are most welcome), you're welcome to join in at the new improved home turf couches at the cameldome.

cheers liam,

numbers are looking thin so far.

where is the cameldome exactly? might have to think about it as an option.

i'll still probably go to east lakes and try and get a group happening over the year

yeah thanks liam, i let rich know of my plans and he's done a mail out for me and also has it on his website.

i appreciate your offer, but i'd love to get this going on a regualr basis, but i reckon a BBQ and game at the cameldome latter in the year would be a great idea

cheers

hey looking at the bus time table, due to the easter break, the services are reduced so i'll be getting to east lake at around 2.20-2.25 if all goes well.

i cant get a bus untill 6.08 on the way home unless i got the 4.38 one which will be too early.

anyway guys anyone thinking of getting busses should double check there time tables.

Gez insisted on the bus, which is just as well, I'm in the middle of a few things here and a bit caught up, will try and get to Eastlakes at half time.

thanks too all who turned up on saturday, and sorry about the result.

Camel cheers for the lift home!

Justin it was nice to meet up in person, and thanks for the drinks.

ben, was nice to meet you, although, not sure if you're on here.

Rich, love your work mate! thanks for the sending out that email.

there were 10-15 people there because of that!

unfortunatley i wont be able to make it down this weekend, as i'm down the coast for a prior engagement. looks like 9 is showingthis on FTA at 11.15, but i'm pretty sure eastlakes will have the game at 8.30.

To Camelboy, gezman and Bluey95 - thanks for organising the get together. It was pleasing to see a decent turn out.

Special thanks to gezman who saved me the best seat in the house. Aslo no worries about the drinks - thanks for getting me a couple as well.

Really enjoyed meeting you guys in the 'flesh', and I am sure we will have some even better get togethers in the future.

Just checked the foxtel website - this weeks game is not scheduled to be shown until 11.30pm

no worries justin. you're right about the foxtel schedule, but i'm pretty sure eastlakes can pick up the channel 9 telecast from melbourne which is at 8.30.

they did this for the bummer game last year and eastlakes was pretty well rocking for this one. was a great game two. well three of the four quaters were anyway.

camel or rich should be able to confrim this.

The Friday night games are not advertised on Foxtel, but are shown with a direct feed from Channel 9 Melbourne from 8:30pm.

It took me a while to work this out as this is my first season with Foxtel Digital. And if Eastlakes is running on Foxtel Digital now ask them to tune into channel 955, which is one of their Main Event channels..

;)

Oh, forgot to mention, on the Digital Program Guide the Friday Night Football is listed as "Main Event Special program" or something similar, so even that gives nothing away, which is why I needed a lead from DiS to find the show last Thursday. I even rang Foxtel and they couldn't help me, the girl I spoke to said, if the game is not listed anywhere on the Digital Guide then it's not on.

Thankfully she was wrong. :D

Channel 955! 8)
