You've actually lived everywhere.

I reckon I'd get to 8-10 games a year, possibly more. I'd go to most games at the G given the whole MCC thing and far less frequently to Marvel as I hate the place.

My daughter (17) has always been up for a game if the times work and nowadays is all over it. She has a hawthorn supporting boyfriend who has come along with us 8 times now for 8 wins. I'm not letting him say no when I buy him a bloody membership.

My 15yo son on the other hand? Zero chance. The last game he came to was Judd's final game with the bung knee and just has zero interest. All soccer for him.

I try to get to at least one game a year, although I've been in a bit of a lean trot in recent years.

I did get to the Melbourne final last year and that was a pretty good one game of the year to experience. Sitting up in the boondocks, I'm not sure I'll ever forget that passage of play that led to the Acres goal. You could see the pathway to goal clearly from up high and the fact we executed was just brilliant. As RickJ said, being there is great.

The previous game I went to would have been 2022 I guess, I used a two or three year old TC sponsorship ticket that kept getting deferred due to covid. It was a GWS game at Marvel that we very nearly stuffed up.

Prior to that it had been a few years.

I lived in Melbourne in 97 and went to a lot more games that I thought I might at the time. I mostly decided if I was going an hour or two before the games. A very nice luxury to have.

I have had low wattage MCC access for a couple of years now and am yet to use that, maybe later this year if I can???

These days going to the game is the only way you can see anything that isn't a tight shot of contested ball.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FEEL IF WE WIN AND YOURE NOT THERE....

This is what my now deceased younger brother hit me with on the eve of the 1993 grand final. I was in Merimbula on holidays with my first wife, who hated football, and two very little children. My brother called me on the Friday and said he had tickets and exhorted me to get there. I said no way, I'm in the middle of a family holiday that was booked months ago, just cant do it, I'm all set to watch it on TV, my wife will divorce me (ha!).

He said the line again slowly and deliberately to make sure I truly understood and added, "we might not win another flag for 30 years, you may never see another Carlton flag..." flower hell, powerful!

No commercial flights, damn. Ever industrious I talked my way on to a chartered flight that was leaving on Saturday morning, at exorbitant expense. Flew into Essendon* airport, off to the G, pumped. Carlton were favourites but the baby bombers had momentum after a big come from behind win against Adelaide in the prelim

Ten minutes into the first quarter we were gone. Dean Wallis knocked out Mil hanna and no one remonstrated. I felt sick. The rest of the game was a blur. To make matters worse I was staying with my brother and his girlfriend who lived in the heart of Essendon*. Went out to get pizza and beer wearing my Carlton T shirt and scarf and was heckled and ridiculed and laughed at honked by cheat supporters who were out celebrating in the streets.

Worst day at the football EVA. Flew back to Merimbula the next day hungover, depressed, and a couple of grand down (a lot in 1993) to face my wife who was seriously pissed off at what a selfish prick I'd been to interrupt a family holiday with her and the kids to do that. What a prick, she was right.

BUT WHAT IF WE'D WON AND I WASNT THERE.....

My only memory of that game was wanting to throw a teenage supporting Essendon* prick off the 4th level of the then Great Southern Stand - I needed restraining.
