Big Nick turned 70 on Thursday 13/8.

Congrats old champ, and a toast to you.

Wow, my first real footy hero (along with Cliff Stewart of course) is 70 !

Love the Big Nick and a happy Birthday to you sir.

One of the best images and still gives me goosebumps is Kouta handing him the footy at Princes Park at our last game there.

Legend.

First number I had on my footy jumper was Number 2 - happy birthday Big Nick.

My old man tore up the 10 pound IOU.

One of my big highlights as a longstanding Blues supporter was meeting Big Nick at the farewell game function at Princes Park in 2005- a great thrill (detracted possibly by my inebriated state! A fantastic night in all, given I lost my hearing-aid in the process! )

As a whippersnapper growing up, as I first form words (to hear), Nicholls and Jezza were the ones I identified with easily- happy birthday Big Nick!

Big Nick:

- was the best ruckman of all time ..... at about half an inch shorter than ...... Judd!!!!!!
- kicked 6 goals in a winning grand final team........ at 33 years of age!!!!!! ...... while coaching the team!!!!!!!
- in a club that has won 16 premierships and played in many final series, has won 5 (read it.... 5!!!) B&Fs. (for comparison, Jezza won 1, SOS won 2, Sticks and Braddles 3 each, and Doull 4. And this guy won 5!!!!)

The best player I've ever seen, easilly.

Happy Birthday big guy!!

Mick and Mosche summed it up beautifully - Big Nick was a legend - Most influential carlton player ever - a general - players walked tall playing alongside Nick
The steely blue eyes of big Nick had opponents trembling - told the rovers where to stand - a simply palmed it straight to them - body work sensational - battles between Nick and Farmer a sight to behold

Back in 1972 - on his last legs engineered a brilliant win - kicking 6 goals from FP

1973 -When Nick went down in the FP early in the first quarter the whole G rumbled - our day effectively ended then
