Just wondering who people would choose, out of Gibbs and Murph at crucial moments in the game? They are two future stars of the club and each have their pros and cons. Base answers on when they are playing at their best.

1. Need a goal to win after the siren, set shot 50m out straight in front. Who would you prefer had the ball?

2. Same deal, need a goal to win after the siren but marked by the point post. Who would you rather take the shot?

3. Grand final, scores even, need the next clearance, can only have one of them in the centre square for the bounce, who would you rather?

4. Ball gets bombed into the forward 50 in the dying seconds, need a pack mark/speccy? Who would be better suited?

5. Jimmy Bartel is absolutely killing us, need murph or gibbs to tag and shut him down, who takes the job? (choose who would be the better tagger not who you would rather play free)

At the moment you would choose Gibbs......Murphy's kicking isnt great for accuracy or distance and he is lacking in confidence.
But one good game and that could all change.....Murphy is limited because of his size and you wouldnt have him playing on the bigger Bartel.....Gibbs would be better suited.

When the lineup is finally settled I expect both of them to be prime movers and winning us plenty of games....

1. Gibbs - great composure
2. Murphy - seen him do it already (not after the siren , but...)
3. Gibbs - hard one as they both can get the ball.
4.Murphy - just a gut feeling
5. Gibbs - size more than anything

bit unfair to compare them this way, slightly different players who are both vital to our future, but for the sake of discussion:

1. Gibbs
2. Gibbs
3. Murphy
4. Murphy
5. Gibbs

can we have a sixth question to even things up :-D

Q6. We are 99 points up in the grand final against Collingwood, Judd has gibbs and murphy running free inside 50, who should he pass to?

yes it is a trick question

And I am being serious! Nothing against Murph but Gibbs is just too damn classy! His goal-kicking is better, his clearance work is better and his tagging is better. I chose him for the mark purely because of his size though.

He, he, he...

I am looking forward to seeing what the answer is to your trick question King Kerna :-D

Love the questions Elusive Turtle. It echoes thoughts I've had about who will be the most important long-term player for Carlton out of Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer? My answer to that one is probably Gibbs by the way, followed by Kreuzer. Having said all of that, Murph is my favourite player these days. But anyway, onto your questions:

Goal after the siren from 50m: Gibbs. But to explain that one, I just think Murph struggles to make the distance from 50 m. If the question was 40 m, then I would have Murphy, based on the fact that Bryce's form from set shots last year was horrible.
Goal by the point post: Murphy. Once again, I don't like Gibbs on a set shot (though this will improve over his career).
Grand Final Next Clearance: Gibbs all the way. That's what we've got him for.
Pack Mark / Speccy: Gibbs. Murphy is just too small for it... though I know he would hit the contest with a fearless attitude
Bartel Tag: Murphy I think... line ball on this one though.

sorry to get your hopes up Molly, just that I thought the answer is obvious - why would JUDD pass the ball when he can just drill it himself from 50 out

Murphy's kicking is a real worry right now, esp in front of goal.

If its those spectacular high marks then its Murphy for me every time. :P

But if its kicking for goal then I say GIBBS. 8)

Murphys kicking has been fine up until these last 2 NAB cups games so you are worried?
BTW Stevens is usually a great kick and yet he is struggling at the moment....
Maybe Ratts doesn't give a ratt's about the NAB cup .

Gibbs is superior in all 5 areas IMHO, Gibbs all the way.

Murphy will be a star too, but Gibbs is just better.
