However there were plenty of celebrations the day before his birthday at Lionsville Retirement home in Essendon* when Callum Chambers dropped in to visit Joe and his family during afternoon tea. Callum took along the Wizard Cup, together with a special birthday card from Denis Pagan and the players, to congratulate Joe on his 100th birthday and to wish him the very best. And the visit by a Carlton player with the Wizard Cup was certainly a highlight, with the local Mayor waiting until Joe had spoken with Callum and checked out the Cup before she was able to speak. While she had letters and cards from the Prime Minister, the Queen, the Premier and a presentation from the City of Moonee Valley, the Carlton visit took pride of place for Joe on Friday.
