How about we leave the discussion about Walls there and move on.

Wallsy does a lot for the CFC that you wouldnt know about.
Your post is disrespectful and unfair.
I'd call it journalistic balance .. I was wondering which club he was barracking for out there the other night as well, but when you're up in the box, you gotta call it as you see it .. Fat Eddie does the same (he gives props to other clubs when they're due, but he never sh1tcans the filth)

i don't think you can justify your comment either.

i don't think it has anything to do with his criticism of carlton or any other club for that matter. walls has always been forthright in his opinions and a lot of the time they are completely justified.

your case in point regarding fev. fev deserves his criticism. he keeps getting involved in stupid acts. robert walls loves fevola. listen to his commentary from round 3 versus Essendon* last year.

i think he (like many of us) feels let down by fev and hates seeing the guy blowing a talent that is in the elite level of the AFL. walls knows better than any other that talent alone is not enough to be an elite player.

sorry seanpb. your comments were unnecessary and incorrect IMO

During the Den Den years, I was always waiting for Wallsy to say something about the 'quality' of Denis' coaching - he never once made any criticism [constructive or otherwise] of him in any articles that I can recall.

He ALWAYS bagged other clubs when we were slated to play them that week.

Hartlett can feel pretty lucky he's been offered a 2 week break, the same as Howat. However, it doesn't help his quest to be an AFL footballer to spend two weeks when he's fit on the sidelines...

Still, I suppose that makes who to drop for Kreuzer pretty straight-forward.

Not sure that was ever going to much of an issue, unfortunately!

I think the fact at also got 2 makes Hartlett's actions a little easier to understand.

I don't want him to drop that aggressive Style. Its exactly what we need, he just needs to learn where to focus it.

QFT, who else on our list shows even a modicum of aggression. Its blokes with a fair amount of cauliflower in them is exactly what we need................plus a key forward and defender. But i'll take a bit of cauliflower first.

Next time just make it a bonecrunching hip and shoulder in a contest Adam.

I met Hartlett at Carlton once, and he is sounded a top guy.

From a football perspective why after years of injuries, and being on the brink when an opportunity presents itself he would let himself down?

1. He is a top guy.

2. He has never been afraid to throw his weight around but has consistently been injudicious about when to do it. Something about leopards and spots.

no hartlett for 2 weeks.............what a huge loss that will be. Now we will be forced to find a replacement who can actually find the ball and use it wisely, two facets that Hartlett lacks in his game

Good on Harters for clocking the little flower back. Did a good job too, just not very discreet about it, unfortunately.

While Hartlett has been silly enough to get a bit carried away and get rubbed out, a few more opposition players (especially Howatt) will think twice before dropping a cheap shot on our boys a la Campbell Brown etc.

Is there an article or forum post somewhere that lets in on how and when Howat got Hartlett?

I nearly had to drop a Richmond flower in front of me that insisted Hartlett was a coward and Howat did nothing wrong. When I told him about the incident minutes before he said Hartlett would only have gotten what was coming to him.

Good on Harts, I like a bloke who stands up and swings back. I wouldn't be too happy if he'd instigated it, but the retaliation is fine with me.

We need to protect ourselves and our young blokes. If that means a few weeks on the sidelines, so be it.

We should deputize 3 or 4 blokes who we can cover in the event of suspension, and let them dish out the justice.

Considering we have experience with other wayward and undisciplined forwards channeling Hartlett's agression should be a pretty straightforward affair...

Hartlett accepted the 2 match ban. Howat is rolling the dice at the tribunal

Great to see you have a good perspective of the game. It wouldn't be the fact that all his leads were ignored to kick to a triple-teamed Fev instead?

At least someone in a blues guernsey has the balls to lay out a bloke that's instigated pain. Jake King was constantly coming in as the second tackler late and dropping elbows/knees/anything he could on Murph, Judd and the like. Not one Carlton player pulled him off by the scruff of the neck or gave him a deserved bump into the turf. The sooner this club grows some balls, the sooner will gain some respect and lift our intensity.
