Few spots up for grabs without those 4

What would be your round 1 team?

Mine:

B: Thornton Jamison Carrazzo
HB: Russell Bower Armfield
C: Simpson Mclean Joseph
HF: Waite Henderson Robinson
F: Garlett O'hailpin Yarran
Foll: Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy
Int: Hampson Hadley Scotland Grigg

Can it beat the Tiges, I bloody well hope so..... :?

I reckon Walker, Betts and Houlihan will all play. If not all certainly a combination of the three will.

FB: Thornton Jamison Joseph
HB: Armfield Bower Russell
CC: Lucas Murphy Simpson
HF: Carrazzo Henderson Yarran
FF: Garlett Waite O'hAilpin

RR: Kreuzer McLean Gibbs

Int: Hampson Hadley Scotland Browne

Hadley to help out McLean and Gibbs with the clearance work in Judd's absence, Setanta to come in as the third marking option up forward, Lucas to take Gibbs' spot on the wing and Browne to come in to add some versatility to the side. Still two crumbing options up forward, Carrazzo and Yarran can pick up Houla's HF role, and we don't lose too much run in midfield.

Should be able to beat Richmond.

Unfortunately the next 6 rounds are Brisbane, Essendon*, Adelaide, Geelong, Collingwood & St Kilda. :(

Not round 1. If you've ever seen a VFL practice match you'll know why.

Yet to be convinced Murphy or Henderson will be in the team.

Walker will be very remorseful and will blitz in VFL praccy matches, I'd almost be surprised if he didn't play Round 1. He's also far more dedicated and fitter than the other 2.

Oh, and no Judd and possibly no Murph (at the very best underdone) will help his cause, too.

I'd have him in.

My understanding is that the suspensions apply to only the NAB cup matches.
If CFC bow out in the first NAB Cup match, all three suspended players can play in the regional challenge matches.

May as well play them to hopefully raise their trade values.

I reckon Walker will play. If Garlett and Yarran play well in the pre season Betts will miss out. Houlihan will start the year in the Bullants as there is too many players competing for the same spot.

My side (at this stage) to play the tigers!

B: Browne Jamison Thornton
HB: Russell Bower Scotland
C: Simpson McLean Waite
HF: Walker O'hailpin Carrazzo
F: Garlett Kreuzer Yarran
Foll: Hampson Gibbs Murphy
Int: Jacobs Hadley Joseph Armfield
Emerg: Grigg Austin Anderson

I think we might go with the Three ruckman given its at the MCG and that guys like Austin and Henderson may not be ready after an injury interrupted pre season.

no guarantees for Murph or Waitey either.....

if that were to be the case, i couldn't see all three of Walks, Betts and Hoops missing.

That's a brilliant punishment. The suspended boys will be playing another AFL team in whoop whoop while the rest of the list are playing an intra club at Visy Park.

On a serious note will the boys be starting the season in the Bullants?

..exactly, talk of them not playing round 1 hasn't been cos they are suspended, but due to lack of match fitness, cos they miss a few pre-season games..

I would hope the message is getting through by not having them train with the main group and missing the chance to settle into a spot. These boys are starting 22 so that should be an incentive for them to buckle down. I expect them to be training the house down on their return.

Ah, i see, the Paul Roos manual on preseason cups 101

That's good news DOA, majority of people hope to see them out there ASAP. The chicken littles read far too much of the Herald Sun
