Seeing youre already discussing projects with the, im sure you can discuss this one with them too..

Looking forward to hearing what they think... im sure they would be rapt to have something beneficial done for them right???

This week coming would be good....

I contacted the club monday, have not heard anything back yet.

Will follow up when I submit my next article as well.

Hopefully will be able to give some feedback soon.

Google only seems to list CSC doesn't it? Every time I'm working away from home base and need a Carlton fix it seems hard to find my way back to TC. So I have to listen in to CSC instead....

How can we make google reflect TC?

molsey, TC has been on Google for a long time (what words do you use to search for it?):

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n ... ingcarlton

10 would be good if we could get TC to come up with a search just using "Carlton"
20 Goto 10
RUN

Talked face to face with the club today, and they have no problems with the blueseum. The club will wait until after the next round of internet rights are decided to formalise (or not) any relationships with the blueseum.

Was also told today that the www.carltonfc.com.au site will be undergoing a revamp very soon. So keep an eye out for a new look website. :D

There you go Juzz check it out, all fixed  http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... tedhistory

For those of you who have registered but have not returned, please check out the site again, there are now more instructions about how the process of changing pages is done and there is also a mini-forum available to discuss issues related to the structure and set up of the site. There are now over 1100 pages on the site, it is slowly but surely taking shape.

So Jarusa ... I would assume that there won't be many eyewitness accounts of the life and times of the CFC pre 1920 [for example] - primarily because there's not so many people born at the turn of last century left to write articles about those good old days. Does this mean that we're allowed to paraphrase books on CFC history for the site? Can we quote word for word and provide a bibliography of where said quotes / details were pinched from?

Also, with respect to stats - I would assume we would be infringing on various laws if we were to copy stats directly from the AFL online [or similar sites] - how do we get around that without changing the statistics on purpose?

And some other questions but I have a meeting at the pub and have to push off

Good questions HTP.

the guidelines for adding content can be found here: http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Guidelines

Basically, it says that anything written on the site should be done in a neutral, factual manner, avoiding opinion and bias wherever possible.

The other important point is that copyrights should not be infringed.

When dealing with raw facts such as the 1973 best and fairest winner or a reference to Jezzas mark in the 1970 grand final no referencing is needed. However, direct quotations from other sources would need to be properly referenced and also paraphrasing when it can be traced as being from a specific document should also be referenced.

Pictures can also be used if properly referenced and in a low-resolution format that cannot be printed to a high quality (75 dpi).

WRT statistics I gather it would become a murky area after a point. Quoting how many goals a player kicked in their career or a certain game would be OK, but refering to any specific stat such as inside 50's or hard ball gets directly would need referencing. The companies that collect these statistics do not like whole swaiths of numbers to be copied and will take action if this is done, however, individual references within articles if properly acknowledged are encouraged.
