hahahah..... love it

Quote:
PRANK wedding vows can now be revealed to have been included in the Carlton players' eventful off-season.

A group of players re-enacted a scene from the hit movie The Hangover when a drunk character unknowingly gets hitched at a Las Vegas marriage chapel.

The starring role in the Blues' visit to the chapel was played by brash young midfielder Shaun Grigg.

Well there's one thing you can say for this playing group: they certainly know how to enjoy themselves.

I wonder who'd come out on top in the party stakes: Carlton circa 2009 or St Kilda circa 1986?

As my sister would say "whoopy @#$%&! do"
Seriously who cares? If you think a bunch of young blokes having a bit of harmless fun is news Chris DeKretzer, you should be writing for the Truth you clown.

"Brash" midfielder. What a @#$%&! joke our journos are becoming. And to think, I was defending the Hun until recently.

Honestly, the Herald Sun must be scraping the bottom of the barrell for stories and material to write about. Who the hell cares what a bunch of young blokes did in Vegas?? This is but a trivial activity. It really staggers me that their journalists sit down to write this rubbish.
While this is funny, I seriously worry for the Herald Sun if they devote their time to writing about it.
YAWN...

This has gone too far, not from the players, from the media. Reporting this on page 3 is f’n ridiculous. Any doubt the Carlton players have about how much they are under the microscope, and how the media are out to magnify anything they do more than any other club, should be clearly illustrated by this example.

The club need to take one of two approaches – get on the front foot and deal with the media more effectively, or tell the media to &%$# off, batten down the hatches and resolve to rub their faces in our success. The softly softly approach is getting us nowhere.

Hats off to the Herald Sun... you should get these super sleuths in your Sports department to start working in Politics.

If they dig up some dirt - great. If they get blackmailed right back - awesome.

Who ever posted the photos on Facebook should have known better...... what happens in vegas, stays in vegas

I see no problem with the story. Thought it was funny and good on em!

How is this funny?

Quote:
The cast included captain Chris Judd, who is said to have played a leading role in helping to erase any lasting impact.

And to me they make it sound like they really did get him married, but then the 'journo' slowly and cryptically backtracks from that angle through the rest of the story.

Quote:
Sources said the script followed a not uncommon line for Vegas - boy wipes himself out, meets girl, ends up at wedding chapel, and wakes up next morning to find he's married.

The sources said Judd then led the effort to have the marriage annulled, which was done the next day at a significant cost.

Welcome to a 'footy town' Juddy. And you thought Perth was a fishbowl.

Our Comms Manager should be on top of that. He's not on top of much though unfortunately.

As for the Herald-Sun...we need to sit down and have a chat very soon. This vendetta against the footy club has got way out of control and is becoming very, very damaging. Sponsors aren't going to go near us. Remember - 19 games on TV this year...sponsors should be knocking down the door. They're not...(although I expect some news in early Feb).

The article was written by De Kretser who writes for Sports Confidential [the byline clearly shows Sports Confidential], so the slant was humourous as and was treated as a humourous story rather than an expose.

Let's not start jumping at shadows everytime there is an article in the paper about us.

To be honest I don't see a problem with it either, but I'm highly against the Herald Sun writing an article about it. It does not warrant page-3 news, let alone a news story at all.

Hey i'd rather read that than read 'Blues player on rape chargers in Las Vegas'

Course the Herald Essenscum gonna put there controversial spin on it, but i have no doubt 99% of the people who read the story would have seen the funny side to it.

I don't think there'll be anything to write about Carlton in the next offseason, because none of them will be anywhere near Melbourne or Australia for that matter. The clubs going to hate it, but if i were the players then the majority of my 8 week break will be as far away from the pathetic tabloids here in Melbourne as humanly possible.

Its getting beyond a joke. I can absolutely guarantee you they wrote that just so they could put the alcohol angle in the story. Anyone who thinks otherwise have no idea how these snakes work.

The spin being the old 'our sources' tell us..........

our sources tell us, he thought it would create headlines

our sources tell us, Chris Judd was involved

our sources tell us, Grigg bragged to former junior teammates

our sources tell us, boy wipes himself out, meets girl, ends up at wedding chapel, and wakes up next morning to find he's married

Someone from the Sun would have seen the photos, then ran with it turning into a story. Easy to sensationalise it with 'our sources' info

Well the usually tut tutters [including me  ] thinks the story is funny and so did the Hun, which is why they had it under the Sport Confidential banner - that's the part of the paper that has funny sport bits.

and is as bys will say 'pu$$y wiped'

The HS is turning into a piece of tabloid trash ............ The sad thing is the majority of the opposition supporters will jump on the story and have a field day about our "booze culture" (which hasn't lead to a SINGLE incedent in which a law has been broken. Public drunkeness isn't exactly the same as assault)

For christ sake Lovett is up on rape charges, Hurley on Assault, Bock assaulted his missus, Renouf "fell into" a fire, Taylor assaulted a guy while on Parole and ALL we here about are these MINOR incedences involving Carlton players ..............

I say we announce a media ban on the HS but invite the Age/AFL.com/TV stations to do stories on the side. Cut the bastards off all together, get our players out there doing charity work and drum up some POSITIVE publicity for the team !!!!!!!! If the HS ask for an interview tell them to blow it out their ass and give the same interview to the Age.
